To Whom It May Concern:
This is a letter of recommendation for John (Henning. In the first half of 1999, John and I
were assigned to work on a project together at the Corning Photonics plant in Erwin, NY.
In the latter part of 1999, the two of us were assigned temporarily to Coming Photonics
plant in Marlborough, MA. Subsequently, I took on a Supervisory position in Corning’s
Corporate Engineering group and John has been working with engineers who report to
me.
I have directly seen John’s ability as a process/manufacturing engineer. John is an
excellent engineer and is always willing to take on new challenges and has the ability to
quickly learn new processes. John is thorough and can quickly focus on the issues at
hand. He has an excellent work ethic and can quickly become a contributing member of
any team. John was a key member of the team working at Coming’s Marlborough plant.
At that plant, we were able to take a high cost and low productivity production line and
redesign the manufacturing process without the need to retool. Production costs were
significantly reduced, yields improved and throughput increased.
I would recommend John to any potential employer.

Thanks.
