Mr. JohnE. Hill wasborn inArlingtonHeights,Illinoisin1975 and grew up in Oakland,New
Jersey. He competedforandearneda full,4-yearacademicscholarshipfromthe USAFROTCprogram
office anduseditto attendMichiganState Universityinthe fall of 1993. Mr. Hill wasselectedand
enteredThe JamesMadisonCollege of PublicPolicy atMichiganState UniversityinAugustof 1993 Mr.
Hill graduatedMichiganState in1997, earninga B.A.inInternational Relations. Upongraduation,Mr.
Hill wascommissionedasa SecondLieutenantinthe USAFandenteredactive dutyin1998. Mr. Hill was
selectedasanIntelligence Officeranddesignated forthe full 9month Intelligence Officer trainingcourse
at Goodfellow AFB,locatedatSanAngelo,Texas.Uponcompletionof histraining,Mr.Hill wasassigned
to HeadquartersAirCombatCommand(ACC),ACCIntelligenceSquadron;ThreatAssessmentsDivision
at LangleyAFBin Hampton,Virginia. Hisprimaryrole wasthat of a commandbrieferandintelligence
analyst.DuringthatassignmentMr. Hill wasdeployedtoSeoul,SouthKoreainsupport of a jointUS-ROK
exercise andtoSarajevo,Bosniaasa political analystin supportof OperationJointGuardian. In2001 Mr.
Hill wassentto Fort George G. Meade,inMaryland and subsequentlyassignedtothe 91st Intelligence
Squadronas a Branch Manager at the National SecurityAgency.Duringthattime thenCaptainHill
deployedonce againtoBosniain2002 as a LiaisonofficerbetweenNSA andTaskForce EAGLE. Located
at Tuzla AirBase,BosniaTask Force EAGLE wasthe U.S.contingentchargedwithsupportingthe United
NationsOperationJointForge.Hisseconddeploymentwastothe UnitedStatesEmbassyinKabul,
Afghanistanaspart of OperationENDURINGFREEDOMin 2002. Duringthisassignment CaptainHill was
the Officer-in-Charge of asmall NSA teamsupportingajointintelligence cellwhose focuswasfinding
and eliminatingtoptierAl Qaidaoperatives.CaptainHillhadadirectline totierone militaryassetsthat
coulddeployona moment’snotice if the intelligence wasactionable.CaptainHill thendeployedto

UnitedStatesCentral Command(USCENTCOM) Forward,asan OperationsOfficerinsupportof
USCENTCOM's Directorof Intelligence (J2),locatedatCampAsaliyahinDoha,Qatar supporting
OperationIRAQIFREEDOMin2003.
In 2004 Mr. Hill separatedfromthe USAF andwas hiredbythe Departmentof Defense asa
leadershipandmanagementprofessional. Mr. Hill has had a varietyof positionssince joiningDoD
includingtourswiththe Office of the Directorof National Intelligence (ODNI),aLiaisontoCIA'sCounter
TerrorismCenter(CTC),anda deployedpositiontothe UnitedStatesEmbassyinNairobi,Kenyain2007
insupportof the Global War on Terror.
As a Departmentof Defense Intelligence Professionaland Manager,Mr. Hill hasservedasa
Division-level manger,supervisinganoffice of some 40 civilianandmilitarypersonnel workingChinaand
Koreaissues between2007-2009, served asthe as the Chief of Operationsforalarge organizationof
some 400 personnel,withmultiple responsibilitiesincludingCongressional Notifications,Continuityof
OperationsPlanning(COOP),authoringof strategicplans/conceptof operationsplans,andamyriadof
otherresponsibilitiesforhisSeniorandExecutive managers(2009-2011). Mr. Hill wasthen assignedas
an Executive Officerwithinthe Commander'sActionGroup(CAG) toGeneral KeithAlexander,whowas
the firstdual-hattedasthe Commander,UnitedStatesCyberCommandandthe Directorof the National
SecurityAgency/Central SecurityService. Mr. Hill was responsible forhigh-levelstrategicplanning
efforts,national levelplanningoncyberdefense,speechwritingforthe Director,DeputyDirectorand
the DeputyCommanderof USCYBERCOM, as well asmultiple othertasksdesignated bythe
Commander/Directorandthe combinedSeniorLeadershipTeam. Mr.Hill’sthenservedasthe Executive
Officertothe Directorof ForeignAffairs.Assistinghisprincipal inmanagingthe Agency’snumerous
partnershipsandrelationshipswithfriendlygovernmentsacrossthe world. Currently,Mr.Hill is
assignedtoNSA’sCounterterrorismMissionManagementCenter(CTMMC).Mr. Hill worksas a Senior
OperationsLeaderatCTMMC leadingashiftteamof four intelligence professionalsresponsiblefor
tracking, analyzing,notifyingandsummarizinganyterroristattackagainstU.S.interestsacrossthe globe
for NSA’sseniorleadership,includingthe Director.The CTMMC iswidelyregardedasthe premiere
counterterrorismoperationinthe Intelligence Community,providingnotificationtothe communityn
justabout everyCTevent occurringdue to theirmassive contactlistof intelligence officerswhoare
forwarddeployed.
Mr. Hill receivedhisMasterof Arts degree fromThe JohnsHopkinsUniversityinGovernment
and HomelandSecurityin2006. Mr. Hill hasnearly18 yearsof experience withinthe Intelligence
Communityandthe ArmedForcesof the UnitedStates. Mr. Hill hasexpertiseincounterterrorism,
counter-intelligence,cyberdefense, foreignaffairs andhomelandsecurityissues.Mr.Hill retainshis
commissionasa Captaininthe USAF as part of the individualreadyreserve(IRR).Mr.Hill currently
residesinBowie,Marylandwithhis wifeSaraandtheir2.5 yearolddaughterSusan. Mr. Hill isan avid
worldtravelerhavingvisitedsome 36countriesincludingsome wonderful 'GardenSpots'like
Afghanistan,Uzbekistan,Djibouti,Kenya,Tanzania,Somalia,Bosnia,Qatar,Croatia,the SouthKorean
DMZ - justto name a few - andspent30 days aboardthe USS Mount Whitney(LCC-20) inthe Atlantic
Oceanwhile supporting ajointUSAF-USNavyexercise.
