CASE 1 Business Process Driven Testing
Background
A large logistics company is looking to significantly update several applications in their
production landscape, all supporting the order-to-cash process, in one large software update.
If this software fails it could potentially lead to huge losses of both potential sales and internal
resources to restore normal service.
Because of this, the company would like to conduct a test of the software working together before
deploying to production, despite its limited maturity.
Accenture is tasked with testing these updated pieces of software.
Question 1
How would you approach this task as an Accenture consultant team?
Question 2
What could be major blockers for this to move forward?

CASE 2 Optimizing Public Procurement
Background
A Ministry has asked Accenture to carry out a analysis on how they handle procurement today
and how the process could be improved. Prior to this task, the state auditing office analyzed the
Ministry’s procurement processes and critizised the Ministry for not being compliant with the EU
procurement rules in every second purchase.
Some employees in the organisation are very positive towards the idea of an having someone
external conducting the analysis; others are more sceptical. The leadership, the procurement
team, and the external vendors all believe that they are not part of the problem.
Question 1
How do you handle a situation where none of the involved parties
believe they can improve their own part of the procurement process?
Question 2
What information and material would you ask the Ministry to provide for
your analysis of their current procurement processes?
