1. Adult Literacy – adults age ranging from age of 15 and
over; the ability to understand and evaluate meaning
through reading and writing, listening and speaking,
viewing and representing, (UNDP, Workshop Materials,
2012).
2. Action Research (Participatory Action Research) – is a
research initiated to solve an immediate problem or a
reflective process of progressive problem solving led by
individuals working with others in teams or as part of a
community of practice to improve the way they address
issues and solve problems,

selected (a women included for gender balance).
Ages range from 21 to 46 years
Twenty people; two from each village (total of 7
villages) randomly selected for informal
interviews including 4 of the focus group and 1
coordinator and 1 facilitator).
