Recommendations Structure – expand Churchill refinery Upgrade the refinery to a large, simple configuration In doing so, this helps to establish a long-term sustainability by meeting demands of both the Afrinian market and that of surrounding countries. It also helps to minimize the environmental fallout from any harmful refinery runoffs. Strategy – stimulate Afrinican economy By capturing the Afrinian oil industry, this can help to stimulate the local economy by creating jobs through the refinery, construction of new infrastructure, and advancement of local technology. Integrity – Promote transparency in business practices Being that integrity is one of World Petroleum’s core values, it is important to set a zero-tolerance policy for all bribery within business dealings. By promoting a policy of transparency, this can help promote internal whistle-blowing and discourage unethical business practices. Innovation – key in on younger Afrinian generation Because a majority of the Afrinian population (67%) is between 15 and 24 years old, we recommend to target and focus this customer segment. It is stated that the younger Afrinian generation is open to embracing the energy industry and using Afrinia’s natural resources as a way to further their economy and stimulate their GDP growth. By doing so, this can help to generate support for the emerging energy industry. Relationship – establish liaison with existing NGO’s. By working with the local NGO’s in Afrinia, this can help to improve relationships with the local population by improving their quality of living. We recommend for World Petroleum to contract with certain chartiable organizations, such as the World Health Organization, to help improve the quality of living in Afrinia.
