(AFENET) as Public Affairs Officer on a USAID funded project -To support the
implementation of Behavioural Change Communications for Avian Influenza
Communications (AI.Comm) in AFENET's 16-member countries in Eastern, Southern and
North Africa.
Jimmy Kiberu's key successes included supporting the successful establishment of a Public
Affairs Office at AFENET between June 2009-December 2009 and programmatic direction
and technical support to Africa Field Epidemiology Network.
AFENET Member countries include: Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda, Zimbabwe, South
Africa, Mozambique, Angola, South Sudan, Togo, Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, Nigeria,
Ghana and Ethiopia. AFENET is supported by leading global health partners including; the
US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), World Health Organisation (WHO)
and Ministries of Health in member countries amongst others.
I had line responsibility for Jimmy Kiberu's professional services to AFENET and would not
