Editor's Notes

  1. Your stock antenna sucks – use something better
  2. Improve your signal by 3-6dB
  3. Be careful your PTT Switch is not able to be keyed accidently
  4. Radio inside your jacket (cold wx) – get the antenna up high Reverse to use with RP-SMA connectors found on Chinese import radios
  5. Some events are NOISY – a headset or sealed earphone (put a safety type ear plug in the other ear) can make the difference in being able to hear Net Control or not...
  6. I know you will charge your radios battery the night before but still..... Alternate energy sources?
  7. Sun block; hat ; long sleeves & pants
  8. You’ve done this event for a dozen years – you start at 0700 and will be done at noon
  9. If its a 4 hour event – pack for an 8 hour one Energy bars, water bottle;
