AICPA Federal Advocacy
With more than a decade of experience with Ernst & Young, most
recently as a senior manager, James Kasim has served in various
financial and operational capacities for several private and publiclylisted and registered companies. Through his participation in the
American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), James
Kasim contributes to professional advocacy on a variety of topics
important to the accounting profession.
AICPA Federal Advocacy

The AICPA advocates for several legislative and regulatory issues at
the federal, state, and international levels, making sure professionals
in the field enjoy an environment that supports their activities as
effectively as possible.
AICPA Federal Advocacy
The federal advocacy of the AICPA takes several forms. One way in which
the AICPA engages with the federal government is through its Political
Action Committee, AICPA PAC, which takes contributions from AICPA
members and uses them to help candidates who will create a favorable
accounting business environment if they are elected to public office. The
AICPA also operates a Key Person Program, which focuses on helping
politically savvy, knowledgeable individuals in the accounting field
communicate directly with Congress. Finally, its Legislative Action Center
helps everyone in the accounting field take grassroots action on current
legislative issues by providing form letters that can be mailed to legislators.
