Tolerating Employee Misconduct Puts the
Company’s Reputation at Stake-Jignesh Barasara
There are many factors for the success and failure of an enterprise. One of them is
the kind of the employees that the employers hire. Yes sometimes the behavior of
just one or two employees can make or break an enterprise.
So how should be the behavior or an employee? Generally speaking there are
several kinds of employees in any company. From the managers to the lowest rung
the peon different kinds of employees work in different kinds of companies. Each
ones role is different and accordingly their behavior also may be a little different.
In general everyone has to have a cordial relationship within an office setup. This will
make the work easy to do in the premises. Also all the employees need to co
ordinate with other well do get all the work done smoothly.
Any variation or misbehavior from any employee may damage the office environ. If
such behavior continues from one of the employees for a long time then it may not
augur well for the company or the proprietors and other higher authorities in the
office or company too is the opinion of Jignesh Barasara.
Such behavior is contagious. So when the higher authority, for whatever reason
tolerates such misconduct of any employees the others may tend to behave so and
would wish to get away with it.
The discipline of the whole office setup or the company will get tarnished and it will
affect the overall efficiency of the work being done in the company. When the work
gets affected then it directly impinges on the customers and clients too.
Such blemish for any company will tarnish the image of the company and brand. The
company then starts losing customers which may result in the financial loss. Once
when this seeps in it will be difficult to rise again and regain their lost sheen and
reputation.
Maybe in a year or two they may make up for the financial loss by some means but
the loss of reputation may take a longer time to expunge from the memories of the
customers to again trust the company for their products and services.
Hence it is imperative that the bosses nip in the bud the misconduct and misbehavior
of any employee at whichever position he or she works so that the reputation of the
company is not put to stake.
