TSQ ENDURA MASS POSITIONCHECK AND
CALIBRATION PROCEDURE
What youwill need (Figure 1):
Syringe
Infusionadapterandtubing
Syringe Infuser
Methanol forCleaning
Pierce Triple Quadrupole CalibrationSolution

1- Fill yoursyringe withcleaningmethanol
and dispense intowastebeakertorinse
out the syringe. Dothistwo times.
2- Fill yoursyringe withthe Triple
Quadrupole CalibrationSolution(Poly
T)
3- Attach syringe byinsertingthe tipinto
the clear plasticattachedtothe
adapter. You will meetsome
resistance,thenpushina little more bit
to seat.
4- Place Syringe intoinfuser. Pressthe
small buttonandslide the blockto
adjust. Pull roundtab androtate clipto
holdsyringe inplace (Figure 2). Attach
the endof tubingintoESI (Figure 3).

Beginbysettingselectingthe DefineScanTab,
Ensuringthat positive modeisselectedand
makingsure the Full Scan Q1 is enabledandthe
scan range is 150-1050 (Figure 4).

Start Infusionof PolyT
Selectthe Syringe iconatthe top to turn iton and setthe flow rate to 3ul/min (Figure 8).

If the CheckMass and Resolutionfails,runthe Calibrate MassandResolution,thendothe SystemTune
and Checkand thenfinallythe Electron MultiplierCalibrationlast.
Afterthat all positive modecalibrationsare completeperformthe negative modecalibrationby
switchingtonegative mode andloadingthe appropriateionsource usersettings. Setthe syringe to
8uL/minFlowand verifythe three negative ions,182.11, 508.33 and 997.44 are present(Figure 13).

the Electron MultiplierCalibrationforNegative mode.
Once the negative calibrationiscomplete,stopthe syringe infusion andrinse the barrel outwith
Methanol,andalsomanuallyrinse outthe line andadapterusingthe syringe andstore the parts. Set
startingconditionsof abatch and run a few samples,suchasQCs are Calibratorstodetermine if
everythingisworkingproperly.
