CHINESE MID-AUTUMN MOON FESTIVAL
A teaching resource for primary schools
Illustrated story with activities for KS2 children to support
reading, writing, RE, maths and cooking.
A pdf resource that includes a picture story book for classroom use. There are
a range of English language activities with differentiation for EAL children.
These support vocabulary, sentence structure and narrative storytelling.
Other, fun to do activities, linked to maths, art and design and technology
involve working with a Chinese calendar, reproducing a Chinese character and
following a recipe to make traditional mooncakes.
The introductory pages give the teacher cultural and historical information,
providing a comprehensive insight into the background of the festival and
legend.
