About EUHA – EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY HOCKEY ASSOCIATION
• The main objective of the Association is the development of sports activities of young
people/students, the development and promotion of ice hockey and other sports among the
students of daily study form at colleges and universities. The objective also includes
satisfying, supporting and developing the interests and hobbies of young people and
improving the physical and mental capabilities in the area of sports, physical culture and
creating conditions for strengthening the health of young people. Another objective of the
Association is the support and development of the education and pedagogical competences
of its members.
• The Association intends also to contribute to overcoming intercultural, information and
communication barriers and to cooperate internationally across Europe, to support and
participate at the activities of civil associations, foundations, other communities with similar
objectives by establishing, organizing and managing the European University Hockey League
(abbreviated as the “EUHL”) and by arranging exchange programs between the “EUHL”
participants
• The Association takes care of the development, prosperity and protection of interests of its
members and participants of the “EUHL“, ensures conditions for the performance of their
sports and education activities and provides them with technical and consulting services.

History inspires
• University system in America has more than 100 years old tradition. One of the
opportunities how to build hockey carrier is by their system of leagues among
universities on amateur basis.
From thoughts to reality
• EUHL – European University Hockey Association was established in 2013 and it is
conducted by EUHA (European university hockey association). EUHA is an independent
organization, which is not owned by any other association or corporation and its players
cannot play in any professional league and have to be only university or college students.
Brave project brings new possibilities
• Main goal of EUHL is to create bridge between junior and professional hockey.
Nowadays, players have a new possibility, which is to study at university or college and
to play hockey simultaneously.
6. “Study and live your hockey dream“
It is a well-known fact that CHL is not the only possibility what opens doors to NHL. According
College Hockey webpage, 151 players of 301 who were playing in NCAA during 2011-12
season, completed their university education.
David Bondra, son of Slovak ice-hockey legend Peter Bondra, did not choose CHL but BCHL
(British Columbia Hockey League), so he could study and play in NCAA. Nowadays, he is
playing for Michigan State University. Education is becoming a key factor in hockey world.

EUHL is on way to create the new culture in European university sport / hockey and to help
young players and increase spectator´s attention“
There is a huge myth spread in people´s minds about athletes. This myth is saying that even
though athletes are physically fit, they are not placing enough emphasis on education. There
are many factors showing that this myth is not consistent with reality. There are players such
as Phil Kessel, Thomas Vanek, Peter Sejna and many others who came through this university
system. People even think that athletes get their degree with no effort but reality is different.
young athletes are able to enhance their time management in order to combine their time
between playing and studying. They have to keep a good grades or they are going to lose
their scholarship.

10. New season of EUHL – EUROPEAN UNIVERSITY HOCKEY LEAGUE
• Establishment of East division ( 9 teams from Czech Republic, Slovakia, Austria I)
• Adaption, interest and integration of new university teams in EUHL
• Vision of creating North division (Sweden, Finland, …), South division (Austria II, Germany,
Slovenia) and British division
• International tournaments and friendly games
• Help to overcome intercultural, information and communication barriers
• Help to build the European students identity
