Factory Farms VS Organic Farms
Though out this paper I would be stating the different between Factory farms and
Organic farms. I would first like to focus on the quality of the two products. The
Factory farms are dirty and over crowded with too many livestock. Factory farms
livestock eat corn which is unhealthy for the chickens and cows. The corn is cheaper
and it makes the livestock grow with-in 48 days which is too soon. Because of the
unhealthy feeding it cause many then less of the livestock to die before they can even
stand up on their own. The chicken’s bones can't handle the rapid growth so they are
injected with a powerful drug that is called antibiotics. Factory farms clean their meats
with a chemical call bleach that we as people use to wash cloths and clean the house
with. The factory product is unhealthy for the country and cause sickness and diseases.
As for the Organic farms they feed their livestock grass and they let them grow in its full
term which is 70 days. The organic farms clean their meat in just fresh water because
they are raised in a cleaner and better environment. The Organic farms products are
healthy for the country.
2. As I continue to talk about the different between the Factory farms and Organic farms, I
would like to focus on my second point which is the environment the livestock are
raised. The Factory farms livestock is kept in a building with no windows and not
enough space for one another. They are in the dark and always scared when they hear
anyone walking in the building. Because of they are scared when they hear different
sounds then their own some chickens die. The livestock sits in its own mess for the
whole time they in the factory. As for the Organic farms the livestock is raised on the
outside where they see the different between day and night. The chickens and cows are
not living in the space and not over crowded. They are also handle with better care.
As I continue about the Factory farms and Organic farms ill focus on my third point. The
third point will be on how the employees are treated. As for the Factory farm employees
they were treated badly and punished. The punishment was the following, they got laid
off easily, paid very low and cheap without any benefits and got deported. As for the
Factory owners they hard rules to follow with the up keeping of the building. when they
failed to do so they were fined and also led to them close down and also fall into debt. It
cost them over a half of million dollars and only make 18,000 a year. As for the Organic
farm worker was paid well and also had benefits for their family and them self. They are
also in a union, so not able to loss their job easily.
3. In my conclusion about the different farms I would like to discuss the price of each
product when it reaches the supermarkets. The product that was from the factory was
sold cheaper then the product from the Organic farm. Because of the different in price
most people are force to buy cheaper and become unhealthy. Therefor to prevent form
getting sick I will encourage everyone to start buying organic for their family and
themselves. You may have to spend a little more money but it will be worth it in the
long-run of your life.
