2. What is Virtual Assistant?
A virtual assistant is a software agent that can perform tasks or
services for an individual.

4. 1962 (IBM Shoebox) :The first digital speech recognition
tool , The design allowed for the recognition of each digit name
“Zero”, “One”, Two” … “Nine” and its front, middle, and
ending sound.

5. 1990(Dragon Dictate):The first speech recognition product
for consumers.

6. 1996(Clippy):Introduces by Microsoft & in 2001 Microsoft
introduces speech recognition feature for Office XP.

13. Working process of
Virtual Assistant
We can classify this process into three part:
• Speech to Text conversion
• Analyst all the key words of our Speech
• Text to Speech conversion & gives relevant
information.

14. Speech to Text conversion
• Received Speech as input Data.
• Convert this Speech signal into bit
string.
• Probability estimation & Decoding.
This is a important part of this process. In
this part assistant analyses the speech to
recognize the actual speech (for example:
spelling problem). Now Decoding, it
actually done the conversion and correct
the grammatical mistake & pronunciation.

15. We can do it by using programing language. Here we
give a small example of speech to text conversion
using Python:
• Then we get the text file of the speech.

16. Analysis all the key words of our Speech
After conversion it separate all the words and
gather it as a information. Compare those
information with relevant data that Google or other
search engine have and give us the possible best
result. This process is known as Spiders
which is a software program.

18. Text to Speech conversion & gives relevant
information
In this part , by the help of AI assistant gives us a
charming replay and relevant information as Google
does.

20. We know in digital communication system we need modulation,
coding, demodulation etc. for data compression and security. In this
case assistant also done this. They use all the coding process
(Exp: Huffman coding, Shanon-Fano, Lempel Ziv, Lempel Ziv 78)
to compressed data & secure it.

For virtual assistants to become fully trusted and completely incorporated into
our life, they must overcome a couple of hurdles.
• First, the security of the voice transmissions needs be addressed, so that users
feel comfortable accessing confidential data through voice command.
• Second, users comfort level in using virtual assistants must increase; they
need to be thought of as useful tools, and not regarded as a passing gimmick.
