How to Use This Memo Template
Chicago Mercy Hospital will celebrate Healthy Heart Weekfrom April 7–13. During this
week, the hospital will sponsor several workshops on how to improve the quality of life by
improving the quality of a person’s heart. These workshops are free and will be open to the
general public. When the times and locations are determined, I will let you know. In the
meantime, as a buildup to Healthy Heart Week, I would like you to add the following
information to next week's newsletter:
One high blood pressure reading does not necessarily mean a person has high blood
pressure—a problem is indicated when a person has several high blood pressure
readings.
High blood pressure usually has no symptoms. The only way to know for sure is to
have it checked.
A normal blood pressure reading is 120/80. If the top number (called the systolic)
consistently exceeds 140, or if the bottom number (called the diastolic) consistently
exceeds 90, a person should be working with a physician to lower his or her blood
pressure.
