2. Founded in the year of 2000, Amarta Media Group publishes the first
glossy magazine to appear in the history of Georgia. Amarta (1), as a
magazine,considers itself to be the preferred resource for women who are
fashionable and stylish. It targets members of the upper-middle and up-per
classes. The magazine informs readers about fashion and art news from
around the world and offers feature articles on world-famous celebrities in-cluding
exclusive interviews with Hubert de Givenchy, Christian Lacroix, Di-ane

Benetton, Victoire de Castellaneand others. Amarta magazine assembles
photographers, artists, designers and writers who give a sophisticated touch
and vision of fashion, beauty and lifestyle.
It is interesting to note that the magazine is collaborating with different out-standing
European and American photographers and agencies which gives
an updated freshness to the magazine. Thus, Amarta has become a window
to the world in the field of fashion and beauty for Georgia.
The magazine has won several awards including Golden Quality Award (New
York, 2006). The Amarta Media Group has always worked hard to protect the
integrity and reputation of the magazine among publications in Georgia and
abroad. Amarta is the media partner of Tbilisi Fashion Week, held twice a
year in Tbilisi hosting the buyers and critics from all over the world.
In addition, Amarta has also covered important social topics. For example,
in 2006, a special issue of Amarta was publishedcovering the theme of drug
addiction not only asa disease but as an actual worldwide pandemic. It con-tained
a report from St. Patrignano (Italy), the largest drug rehab community
in Europe, interviews, statistical data and other materials devoted to this
topic.
Within several years Amarta became the host of another social project. This
time the magazinepartnered with UNFPA, dedicating the entire issue to the
different unsettled social issues in society. Amarta magazine is nominated as
a best media partner of UNFPA (United Nations division) in Georgia.
Amarta Media Group is a developing business group that has begun to
publish separate magazines under the Amarta brand. These include Amarta
FOTO (4) - the first professional photo magazine in Georgia, featuring photo
projects by the most famous photographers of the world.
The group has also issued a fashion/beauty newspaper AMARTA EXPRESS(3),
published twice a month targeted to meet the interests of young people.
The group has signed contracts with some of the largest international pub-lishing
houses to produce Georgian versions of their magazines. One of
these is the popular football magazine WORLD SOCCER (2).
