Currently Studying:
Real world use of PHP and SQL, Website security, 3D modeling, .NET development, Unity 3D
Top Projects, Past, Present, and Ongoing:
FixIt (September 2016-in progress) – I am currently the lead developer of an online system
designed match homeowners with the right contractors for any job they might have. On the
surface the website is meant to be simple to use for both contractors and customers, but it has a
heavy PHP and SQL back end to collect, store, and display data.
Woodmere Law P.L.L.C. Website (2016) – Can provide a link if requested. I built a website
for a law firm in Williamsburg. I made several demo versions to help the customer decide how
he wants it, and in the end he was very happy with the current layout. This site uses mostly
HTML and CSS, as well as some JavaScript and PHP support. It shows well organized code that
2. can be modified and expanded easily. I designed it with the assumption that other programmers
will work on it, so I made it easy to add new pages and change content.
InterSpace (2012-present) – 2D open world space shooter survival game. Created with Game
Maker: Studio, MS Paint, and Audacity. I’m the only one working on this ongoing. The game
uses keyboard and mouse to control the player ship and other objects. It is still in progress, but
already features all types of fun game mechanics, such as remote controlled turrets and missiles,
ability to control any enemy unit, seeker missiles, gravity fields, support AI units, boss battles,
power up area of effect zones, and more. I’ve worked on most game elements: graphics, sounds,
AI, UI and HUD, controls, zoning objects, collectables, story, objectives, object hierarchy, and
more. From this project I gained valuable experience in programming logic and game design.
Bird vs Bugs Simulation/Game (Mar. 2016 – July 2016) – 3D game to demonstrate how a
species can evolve different traits over time. It was a volunteer project for the Virginia Living
Museum. Created with Unity 5 using C#, 3ds Max, and Photoshop, in a team of me and 2 other
members of ECPIs software dev club. My role was to program the player (bird) and AI
(caterpillars), create traits for the bug species such as color, size, and speed, and have them
evolve based on the traits of the bugs killed and the survivors. I also made the UI. The others
worked on the 3D models and animations which I implemented in Unity. From this project I
gained valuable experience in Unity 3D, programming, and teamwork.
Web Designfor Ms. Tina L Vick (Council Woman City of Newport News VA) (Dec. 2013 -
Mar. 2014) – Building two websites according to client needs. Created with HTML, CSS,
MySQL, PHP, and Wamp. It was an Externship for me and 3 other students. Ms. Vick needed
one site to be about her and her book “Growing up Vick”, and the other about her real estate
business. My role was to create some of the pages, headers, footers, links, and some graphics for
both websites. It was a while ago so she has updated her site since then, but I gained valuable
experience in HTML, CSS, and Teamwork.
