Das Award”.

Barnali Das professionally a painter, sculptor and a graphics designer also runs
her very own Art and Cultural Institution called “Silpidal” as a passion. She
graduated from the Government Collage of Fine Arts in the year 1989 along with
a degree in accounts from the “Goenka Collage”. Apart from Lithography on
stone training she also works on Buddhist Paintings under the guidance of
Kulavadhuta Satpurananda from the year 1999 onwards. She has conducted
numerous solo exhibitions as well as many group exhibitions. She has taken part
in exhibitions such as at “International Art and Sculpture Exhibition” by Spark.
She has also received the “Badhan Das Award” from the Government Collage of
Art and Craft.

Barnali's Traditional Paintings:
From year 1999 onwards she stayed at the”Gurukul” and started learning Indian and
Tibetian Buddhist paintings under the sole guidance of Kulavadhuta Satpurananda who is
an Indian Buddhist master proficient in traditional paintings and sculptures and created the”
Tantric Yantras and Mandalas”.

Zen paintings is a way to focus the sub-conscious forms and colours into conscious efforts
through meditative techniques. This is a way to balance the conscious and sub-conscious
and develop the realization of aesthetics in between the two. I developed this idea while
studying abstraction of Buddhist paintings under my master at Gangtok.
