4. 高劍父蒐集不少畫冊圖片，以為創作參考。此
為其中之一，為日本畫家菊池芳文所繪《孔雀
圖》。高氏於1906至1908赴日本研習繪畫，並
受日本畫影響。這幀《孔雀圖》或為其日後繪
畫的稿本
Gao Jianfu collected a number of illustrations as
reference for his own
works, including this painting of a peacock by the
Japanese painter
Hobun Kikuchi. Gao stayed in Japan from 1906 to
1908 to study painting and was influenced by
Japanese painting. This work might have been his
reference for painting peacocks in his later works.
這幀作品與展品44「孔雀」畫稿應屬系列性寫生稿。1906年高
本遊學，在多個畫會習東洋畫、水彩及油畫，主要在東京各地
淺草等與其他畫家寫生，也許在上野動物園觀賞奇禽異獸而作
展品44「孔雀」畫稿以水墨線條勾勒大小孔雀的不同姿態，並
毛翠屏的用色，而此圖則是「孔雀」畫稿左邊孔雀尾部的局部
如出一轍，施以水墨設色點線渲染，反映兩幀畫稿的密切關
為嶺南派多位畫家如高氏學生楊善深（1913-2004）及今次展覽
者黎明擅長的題材。
This piece and Exhibit 44 belong to the same series of sketches. In
Gao Jianfu travelled to Japan to study art and learnt Japanese painting,
watercolour and oil painting at several art societies. He mainly
in the areas of Ueno and Asakusa, together with other painters. He
possibly made many sketches while watching the exotic and peculiar
birds and animals in the zoo in Ueno. Exhibit 44 “Peacock” uses ink
to sketch the various postures of peacocks of different size. He made
notes of the colours on tails of the peacocks. This piece enlarges the
of the peacock sketched on the left in Exhibit 44. The form is the same,
applied with ink in lines and dots, demonstrating the close linkage
between the two pieces, but this one has bright colours added. The
peacock has become a popular theme of Lingnan School painters such
Gao’s students Yang Shanshen (1913-2004), and Lai Ming, who is
Gao’s works for the present exhibition.
