5. Background
In the recent years the airline industry in Indonesia was in turmoil. Many
aircraft accidents occurred that involved, among others, human errors and support
systems, ie. safety factor.
This situation triggered CSE, a newly but fully-experience staffed Aviation
Consultant Company, to conduct a seminar themed “Mengantar Industri
Penerbangan Indonesia Menuju Kelas Dunia” (Brings Indonesia’s Aviation Industry
toward the World Class) on January 25, 2012 at Airman Planet Hotel Sultan Jakarta.
The seminar was officially opened by guest-of-honor Mr. Dahlan Iskan,
Minister of State-owned Companies. The forum was very welcomed by members of
the industry with participants from government agencies, local and international
operators/manufacturers, airport operators and ground handling companies, with
panelists Mr. Herry Bakti Singayuda (Director General of DGCA), Mr. I Gusti Ketut
Susila (Chairman of ATC Association), Mr. Tri Sunoko (CEO PT. Angkasa Pura II), Mr.
Tengku Burhanudin (General Secretary of INACA), and Mr. Budi Wuraskito (Director
of Aircraft Services PT. Dirgantara Indonesia) with Mr. Chappy Hakim (Former
Airforce Chief of Staff) as moderator.

6. Background
During that one-day seminar, most of the audiences expressed their strong
interest to form a community of all Aviation-related parties as a forum to discuss
and promote all aspects of civil aviation in Indonesia.
This reflected the fact that there are still many of aviation observers who don't
have place to actualize their idea for the improvement of Indonesian aviation
industry.
Therefore the Indonesian Aviation Community is formed to be the place for
capturing those ideas and expectations from the community of professional aviators
in Indonesia to contribute to the making of world class Indonesia Aviation Industry.
This forum is intended to obtain genuine individual ideas so the member of the
community should speak for themselves regardless of their status and position at
any institution, therefore the membership should be on the individual basis only.
