device. 3/4” diameter.
Probe is inserted at 90o angle, 12”-18”
deep - the sides or the top of the bale
should are never sampled . We sample
front sides right in the middle to avoid
misrepresent the leaf-stem ratio.
Sample at random. a minimum of 20
cores for a composite sample to represent
a hay lot. - aprox 200g
Seal Composite 20-core sample in a well-
sealed plastic bag and protect from heat .
All sampling equipment used is approved
by USA National Forage Testing
Association
Certified Labs are verified to grind the
entire sample .
