WORK EXPERIENCE
Software Engineer Intern, CleanRobotics Inc (Worked on Trash Robot Version 1 for Google Pilot) 06/2016-08/2016
• Designed the database with 12 tables to store every operation’s data of Trash Robot V1 as well as customer information,
implemented the database using Amazon RDS
• Designed and coded the automatic cycle of Trash Robot V1 on two Raspberry Pi as following:
• Recording each trash’s load value, inductance value, generating an image link, results of classification (recycling vs
landfill), and storing all these data in database
• Storing image files of trash taken by camera and results of classification to a temporary folder and transferring all these
files to Amazon S3 at every night 2:00 am
• Downloading yesterday’s new images and results to administrator’s VM, manually checking the results and adding
new data in training dataset
• Generating a new classifier from VM and replacing the old classifier on Raspberry Pi at every night 4:00 am
• Checking the percentage of usages of the two bins and storing the data in database at every night 1:00 am
PROJECT
Group project - Twitter Big Data Analytics on AWS 02/25/2016-03/16/2016
• Extracted, transformed and loaded 1TB JSON twitter data in query-speed-oriented designed MySql and Hbase database
based on customer’s filter requirements such as replacing censored sensitive words
• Improved query response time by putting replicated caches on each servers and using Elastic Load Balancer to distribute
traffic more evenly and with higher fault tolerance
Local Crime Report Geometric Application 02/03/2016-02/10/2016
• Built a 2D tree based on Professor Robert Sedgewick’s 2D tree implementing logic to store crime records in Pittsburgh
during the 1990’s without use of any Java Collections
• Wrote methods that can find all crime records in a given rectangular area or find the nearest crime for a given location with
Log(N) time complexity and generate a KML file to store these records which can be seen in Google Earth
Cloud Computing - Advanced Resource Scaling and Strategies of a Load Balancer 02/01/2016-02/15/2016
• Designed a Load Distribution Strategies based on Round Robin and can distribute load evenly with additional function to
give priority to the least used VM and open new thread to establish a VM if current VM could not pass Health Check
• Implemented LRU algorithm cache strategy on front end between load generator and data centers based on LinkedHashMap
which can improve the searching efficiency
Distributed System - Symmetric key and Asymmetric key cryptography for Spy communication 02/09/2016-02/19/2016
• Designed a secure system using symmetric key cryptography: It can encrypt and decrypt data before writing it to or reading it
from TCP socket between server and client based on Tiny Encryption Algorithm
• Extended the secure system by using RSA for asymmetric key cryptography based on Java BigInteger class
ACADEMIC ACTIVITY
2014 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (“Traffic rules selection”, Honorable Mention) 01/2014
• Analyzed advantages of “Keep-right rules” over “Free selection rules” for car following model and simulated by VISSIM
• Added Coriolis Force factor to ameliorated model and analyzed its influence on two rules
2013 Mathematical Contest in Modeling (“China’s water strategy”, Honorable Mention) 01/2013
• Predicted future demand of water and population by regression analysis and logistic model for each mainstream area
• Established storage model for each area and used Dijkstra Algorithm to find best transportation routes based on geographical
and technical factors
HONOR & AWARD
• 2015: Tianyi Fund “Top 10 College Students” Academic Pilot Award (30,000 RMB)
