We have just passed 2021 with a lot of
new events and experiences in both life
and work. In the employment sector,
the COVID-19 pandemic is seen as "one
of a series of waves" that pose challeng-
es to the sustainability of economies.
Businesses in various industries have
been affected by the worldwide
pandemic's far-reaching effects, and
their employees have been directly
affected. The International Labor Orga-
nization (ILO) forecasts a global unem-
ployment rate of 6.3 percent, or 220
million people, in 2021. In Vietnam, the
number of jobless persons of working
age increased by 126.5 thousand
individuals in the first nine months of
2021, compared to the same period
previous year, and the unemployment
rate for people of working age is 2,99
percent (statistics of GSO). Understand-
ing the present labor market circum-
stances, VietnamWorks and Navigos
Search quickly produced a pay report
with a range of data to assist companies
and job seekers affected by COVID-19.

According to the data, workers joining this
survey are concentrated in two big cities, Ho
Chi Minh City accounted for over half of the
population (roughly 42.58%), followed by
Hanoi City (26.7%). The remaining workers
are dispersed around the country in
provinces including Da Nang, Binh Duong,
Dong Nai, Hai Phong, and others.

When asked about the current rank of
survey participants, the group of Experi-
enced but not yet Managerial employees is
leading with 37.4%. Following is the Manage-
ment group accounting for 22.73%. Team
Leader / Supervisor Assassins have a lesser
ratio of 18.67%, level Director / Head of
Department rate 11.17%, the rest are born
Fresh graduate, little experience accounted
for 8.48%.
According to the statistics, the group of
workers with 5 to 10 years of experience
has the biggest share, accounting for nearly
33% of the total. Following is the group with
less than 5 years of working experience at
25.52%. The group of employees with 10 -
15 years of seniority is also accounted for
accounted for a relatively high proportion
with 23.29%. The rest is 18.19% of the
group of workers with more than 15 years
of working experience.

In the Talent Guide 2022, we have included a salary report
for Japanese customers.
Currently, 140 countries and territories have invested in
Vietnam, with Japan being the most significant investor,
with a total registered capital of 63.96 billion USD. Further-
more, the percentage of Japanese businesses planning to
expand in Vietnam in the next 1-2 years remains at 55.3
percent, ranking first in the ASEAN region (according to the
Ministry of Planning and Investment).

The salary range in the survey was based on an analysis of
responses from nearly 6,880 job seekers, candidates and
employers. This was filled in by participants themselves
along with other details about working locations, positions
and years of experience.
Besides, the maximum salary for a working position is also
referenced from the employers who are customers of
Navigos Search. It should be noted that the figures shown in
this survey are base pay, excluding bonuses or other finan-
cial benefits.
Although the data was collected and analyzed with excellent
and detailed care, this survey does not represent for the

When asked about the benefits that
employees receive in addition to salary,
we found that the list of the top 10
benefits that employees receive up to
the time of salary survey 2022, ranked in
descending order as follows:
In 2021, the highest average bonus that
employees receive is 1 month's salary,
accounting for 40.5%. Followed by more
than 22% of participants who received a
bonus of 2 months salary a year and
nearly 20% of those who received a
bonus of 3 months salary or more. Up to
12.85% of employees receive bonuses
of less than 1 month's salary, which
proves the heavy impact of the Covid-19
pandemic on businesses in paying

survey respondents shared that: The
working environment / colleagues
and job stability are the primary
factors, accounting for around 13%.
The company's working location is
also an important factor considered
by employees selection, accounting
for around 12%.
Salary ranked 4th towards this list,
accounting for around 11% of the
total. Other considerations such as
company brand and learning and
development opportunities at the
existing organization are also reasons
why people stay with the company
they are working for.

More than 87% of the workforce has
been affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
It is certain that the fourth Covid
pandemic wave is having a larger effect
on the workforce than all previous
outbreaks combined.
More than 87% is a record high, the
number of unemployed people is rapidly
increasing, jobs are scarce, and monthly
income is decreasing, all of which have a
direct impact on employees' everyday
lives.
According to the report, up to 41.5% of
employees said they had resigned and
were unable to find new positions.
Furthermore, the number of employees
who have been with the company for a
long time still stands for a sizable propor-
tion (about 47%). The proportion of
persons who have quit their jobs but
obtained new official and seasonal work
is lower. Some have left their employ-
ment to start their businesses.

When asked about the company's
promotion policy in 2022, the
majority of survey respondents
(more than 42.21%) were unable to
provide an answer because this is an
objective factor. The Vietnamese
economy in general, and business
recovery in particular, are heavily
reliant on how the Covid-19 epidemic
situation evolves next year.
Employees are unsure whether the
pandemic condition is improving or
worsening, thus they cannot be
certain when giving a response.
Moreover, roughly 38% of survey
respondents are hopeful about the
company's promotion policy in the
coming year. This proves that
workers are expecting the economic
recovery of businesses in 2022 is very
feasible.

According to survey data on employ-
ees' intentions toward job change, up
to 42.45 % answered that if a better
opportunity became available, they
would switch to a new job. Further-
more, 15.32% said they were still
trying to find work. 2.16% of those
surveyed reported finding new work.
In terms of future job intentions, the
proportion of questioned respon-
dents who intend to change jobs in
the next 3 months 6 months, and 12
months is 5,83%, 4,36%, and 3,84%,
