Editor's Notes
This is a record submitted by a user telling us about the slums in Blue Anchor Lane, which doesn’t exist today. If you use the map layers you can see Blue Anchor Lane in the 1890’s and the record has a description and photo to help tell the story. If you use the map layer of contemporary London you can see this has now been changed to Mission Place and looks very different. If you then use the 1940-60’s map layer, you can see why. The Oliver Goldsmith estate was built by the LCC in the 1950’s; changing the landscape of the area.
