UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency, is seeking an Associate PSP Screening Officer
(Copenhagen), IICA 1 (UNOPS) within the Leadership Giving Section (LG) of Private Sector
Partnerships Section.

Organisational context
Reporting to the Due Diligence Officer, Leadership Giving, the Screening Officer will act as one of
UNHCR’s global focal points for conducting screening research and analysis for the UNHCR’s Private
Sector Partnership network on due diligence related to the delivery of partnerships with corporations,
foundations/trusts and HNWI.

Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Due Diligence Officer, The Associate PSP Screening Officer
will:
• Perform research and conduct screening reports as required for potential UNHCR
Partners from the Private Sector (Foundations, Corporates, HNWI)
• Screening reports should be filled out in the standard Screening report form and
shared with Due Diligence unit at HQ for review.
• UNHCR Screening Criteria must be incorporated into screening research and
analysis in order to provide comprehensive screening recommendations.
• Perform other related tasks as required
Monitoring and Progress Controls
Due Diligence
• Requested screening reports are submitted in a timely manner and suggested
screening results are reviewed and consolidated by Due Diligence officer.
• Undertake the initial and detailed screening of current and prospective partners and
donors (corporations, foundations and HNWI), including:
• Managing incoming enquiries from the PSP network regarding screening and due
diligence on prospective partners;
• Conducting additional ethical research of prospective partners based on publicly
available information, to verify compliance with UNHCR’s screening criteria and
identify potential risks, with a focus on reputational risks;
Information Management
• Maintain detailed records of screening activities, including maintaining and
periodically reviewing a central registry/database of all screened prospects and
partners, as well as prospects being considered or approached, ensuring that the
screening information is made accessible and available to the PSP network as
appropriate;
• Keep abreast of relevant business, economics, legislative, regulatory and corporate
social responsibility (CSR) developments and trends in key PSP markets.

• Maintain strong and open communication with Screening officers (DD Unit) in
Copenhagen
Authority
• Screening reports should be filled out in the standard Screening report form and
shared with Due Diligence unit HQ for review and approval
Essential minimum qualifications and professional
experience required
• Advanced university degree in any of the following: Social Sciences, Economics,
International Law, International Relations, Business Administration, or a related
discipline;
• 5 years (3 years for MA degree holders) previous relevant work experience in a non-
for-profit organization and/or in a global private sector company is required.
Corporate Social Responsibility experience is an asset; Masters of Science or
International Law is preferred.
• Exposure to UN system with particular focus on screening partnerships for
humanitarian causes preferred;
Key Competencies
• Fluency English is required, second language preferred
• Proven ability to work independently and effectively, and handle multiple priorities in
a fast-paced environment;
• Thorough knowledge of current trends and practices of public-private partnerships,
risk mitigation, corporate social responsibility, and fundraising
• Excellent analytical, research, writing, organizational skills and time management
skills
• Attention to details, problem-solving ability and strong follow-up skills;
• Proven ability to manage confidential information
• Experience working in a multi-cultural environment;
• Computer proficiency: MS Office (additional web-based computer knowledge is an
asset)

The successful candidate will be based with the UNHCR team in Copenhagen, Denmark
