1. HECTOR BRINGS A UNIQUE PERSPECTIVE to English Language acquisition since, as a native of Mexico, he
transitioned into English as a teenager. After moving to the US, he completed his undergraduate degree in Inter-
national Relations from the United States International University in San Diego, California and the International
University of Europe in London. His post-graduate studies were in Elementary Education and Multicultural Stud-
ies at San Diego State University.
With over 25 years of experience in education, Hector is committed to the evolving classroom by supporting
educators with necessary tools and strategies that provide access to all students. These are practices that equip
teachers for a new generation of learners who benefit from blended environments, while navigating 21st century
skills. These efforts must be accomplished with creativity and innovation.
Hector recognizes his 19 years experience while training teachers throughout Latin America, Asia and the Middle
East as instrumental in guiding schools through the effective implementation of content in English. As a Solutions
Specialist at HMH, Hector also supported product positioning for Houghton Mifflin Harcourt’s Global Sales. He
was actively involved with Business Development, Marketing and Portfolio, particularly when an academic argu-
ment was required. Even when educating schools on a specific program or adoption his passion for education
was tangible.
