Product Design Trends in 2024 | Teenage EngineeringsPixeldarts
The realm of product design is a constantly changing environment where technology and style intersect. Every year introduces fresh challenges and exciting trends that mold the future of this captivating art form. In this piece, we delve into the significant trends set to influence the look and functionality of product design in the year 2024.
How Race, Age and Gender Shape Attitudes Towards Mental HealthThinkNow
Mental health has been in the news quite a bit lately. Dozens of U.S. states are currently suing Meta for contributing to the youth mental health crisis by inserting addictive features into their products, while the U.S. Surgeon General is touring the nation to bring awareness to the growing epidemic of loneliness and isolation. The country has endured periods of low national morale, such as in the 1970s when high inflation and the energy crisis worsened public sentiment following the Vietnam War. The current mood, however, feels different. Gallup recently reported that national mental health is at an all-time low, with few bright spots to lift spirits.
To better understand how Americans are feeling and their attitudes towards mental health in general, ThinkNow conducted a nationally representative quantitative survey of 1,500 respondents and found some interesting differences among ethnic, age and gender groups.
Technology
For example, 52% agree that technology and social media have a negative impact on mental health, but when broken out by race, 61% of Whites felt technology had a negative effect, and only 48% of Hispanics thought it did.
While technology has helped us keep in touch with friends and family in faraway places, it appears to have degraded our ability to connect in person. Staying connected online is a double-edged sword since the same news feed that brings us pictures of the grandkids and fluffy kittens also feeds us news about the wars in Israel and Ukraine, the dysfunction in Washington, the latest mass shooting and the climate crisis.
Hispanics may have a built-in defense against the isolation technology breeds, owing to their large, multigenerational households, strong social support systems, and tendency to use social media to stay connected with relatives abroad.
Age and Gender
When asked how individuals rate their mental health, men rate it higher than women by 11 percentage points, and Baby Boomers rank it highest at 83%, saying it’s good or excellent vs. 57% of Gen Z saying the same.
Gen Z spends the most amount of time on social media, so the notion that social media negatively affects mental health appears to be correlated. Unfortunately, Gen Z is also the generation that’s least comfortable discussing mental health concerns with healthcare professionals. Only 40% of them state they’re comfortable discussing their issues with a professional compared to 60% of Millennials and 65% of Boomers.
Race Affects Attitudes
As seen in previous research conducted by ThinkNow, Asian Americans lag other groups when it comes to awareness of mental health issues. Twenty-four percent of Asian Americans believe that having a mental health issue is a sign of weakness compared to the 16% average for all groups. Asians are also considerably less likely to be aware of mental health services in their communities (42% vs. 55%) and most likely to seek out information on social media (51% vs. 35%).

2. Ajam
Azwan Anim
Buku ini hanya bertujuan untuk
hiburan semata-mata dan sila
jangan hiraukan tatabahasa
kerana penulisnya tidak
mendapat A+ dalam bahasa
melayu terima kasih
Peringatan!
mempersona, memukau semua orang.
sehingga membuatkan jantung T.D berdetak laju
mengalahkan kereta lumba F1.
" Hai semua, nama saya Lestari, selamat
berkenalan" kata Lestari sambil tersenyum mesra. Senyuman
deras keseluruh badan seperti Tsunami.
ketika memandang wajah Lestari. Lestari kemudiannya
masuk waktu pulang sekolah.
02
jatuh cinta lah".
"Aku bukan setakat jatuh, aku dah jatuh ditimpa tangga lagi."
Balas Azwan sambil mengusap hatinya.Lalu mencelah lah si
Anim,"Setakat jatuh ditimpa tangga buat apa? Aku ni dah
jatuh dari tingkat 16, dah kat bawah, badan aku kena gigit
semut pastu datang tapir kejar aku dia sondol aku! hehe ada
kat hampa dok? Kuat sungguh rasa cinta aku ni" kata Anim
tanya Azman, Azwan enggan jawap.Azwan tanya Anim,
Anim malu nak jawap.Anim tanya Ajam, Ajam pukul Anim
Arah Azwan.
Azwan mula mengira satu dua tiga dan tekaan anda betul
bahawa mereka menyebut nama Lestari secara
serentak.Mereka terdiam dan terkaku selama dua minit
straight.Kipas terhenti, Angin berhenti, burung gostan dan
lipas pun pulang ke kampung kerana tahu bahawa tempat
itu tidak lagi selamat.
03
kepala mereka.Mereka pun menghabiskan sisa hari itu
dengan menunjukkan muka buas masing-masing kepada
ahli kontestan yang lain.
04
7. Walaupun ketiga-tiga mereka marah terhadap antara
satu sama lain, namun mereka tidak berkata apa-apa
yang boleh menyakitkan hati masing-masing demi
menjaga hubungan persabahatan mereka.Malam itu
mereka tidak memikirkan apa-apa selain Lestari.
Keesokan harinya mereka pergi ke sekolah secara
berasingan tidak seperti selalunya.Ketiga-tiga
melangkah ketempat duduk Lestari.Ketika Ajam
ingin memikat wanita, Ajam akan menggunakan
jurus terkenalnya yang diajar oleh ayahnya iaitu
Pikaplain turun temurun.Ketika Lestari hendak
memandang Lestari Face To Face.
"Bolehkah saya ikat tali kasut awak? Sebab saya takut
awak terjatuh ke tangan orang lain". Kata Ajam
sambil menunjukkan senyuman mereng.Lestari
mengendahkan pikaplain itu dan mula berjalan
keluar pintu.
05
8. Kemudian Anim dengan laju mengahalang laluan
Lestari dan berkata."Jikalau ingin lalu, kena lah
sebutkan kata laluan dahulu iaitu I Love U".Lestari
hanya berdiam lalu berjalan menuju ke pintu
belakang.Azwan telah pun berada di pintu belakang
sambil menghulurkan tangan.
Kemudiann datanglah Ayu, salah seorang rakan lama
Lestari yang mana juga merupakan rakan sekelas
T.D, menerangkan bahawa Lestari mempunyai
ketua pembuli kerana jikalau Lestari tahu, maka
Lestari akan membenci mereka.Oleh sebab itu,
untuk mendapatkan cinta Lestari, mereka perlu
menunjukkan sifat baik mereka terhadap Lestari.
06
9. Pada malam itu, ketika mereka bertiga baring
di atas tilam asrama masing-masing, mereka
bertiga melihat atap bilik mereka sambil
tersenyum kerana memikirkan kehidupan
mereka dengan Lestari.
Anim mula membuka mulutnya dan
berkata"Hey kamu dua, kamu patut mengalah
sahaja lah lebih baik, sebab aku ni baik hati
bukan macam korang yang jahat! jahat! Nak
Mampos!".Kata-kata Anim telah memicu
kemarahan Ajam dan Azwan dan menyebabkan
mereka bertiga bertikam lidah.
"Oi Anim, hati kau tu busuk! Tak payahlah kau
nak berangan nak dapatkan Lestari tu.Lain lah
macam aku ni, baik hati ,sopan santun, sudah
pasti Lestari akan suka kat aku".Kata Ajam .
Bahagian 3
07
08
11. Sementara itu, Azwan sedang menyapu lantai, mengelap
meja, membersihkan tingkap, menyusun kerusi, memadam
papan putih, senang cerita Azwan sedang renovate kelas tu
menjadi bilik idaman semua pelajar dengan harapan Lestari
melihat kesungguhan nya.
Beberapa minit kemudian, benar seperti sangkaan Azwan,
Maaflah kelas ni berhabuk sikit, sebab tu saya kemas sikit
demi keselesaan kita berdua, Eh tersilap cakap pula, demi
keselesaan semua pelajar yang sebetulnya hehehe".Kata
Azwan sambil tersenyum-senyum seperti tidak pernah
membuat dosa.
"Wah rajinnya awak".Balas Lestari sambil tersenyum malu
ingin menyihir Azwan.
Semua orang terkejut melihat perubahan kelas
kayangan."Azwan tu buang tabiat ka apa?, Azwan tu demam
ka?, "Dunia dah nak kiamat ka apa?".kata bisikan dari rakan-
rakan sekelas Azwan.
Azwan berasa bengang dengan bisikan-bisikan itu lalu
membuat tatapan maut kepada mereka."Wah baiknya Azwan,
Azwan ni memang rajin dari dulu lagi, Azwan memang
terbaik, I Love U Azwan!!".kata rakan-rakan sekelas Azwan
yang takut dibunuh.
09
12. Ajam dan Anim hanya mampu menahan perasaan mereka
untuk memukul Azwan kerana takut Lestari melihat sifat
buruk itu.Kelas diteruskan seperti biasa.
Lestari.
Anim tidak ingin melepaskan peluang keemasan
itu.Dengan pantas Anim merampas pen milik pelajar
dihadapannya dan menghulurkan kepada Lestari."Nah
Lestari pen untuk awak.Kebetulan saya ada pen lebih
hehehe, saya memang baik orangnya hahaha".Kata Anim.
"Terima Kasih Anim".balas Lestari.Hanya dengan
mendengar namanya disebut oleh Lestari sahaja dapat
membuatkan dia cair seperti lilin.Ajam dan Azwan juga
merancang untuk mematahkan leher Anim sehingga tidak
dapat bercakap lagi.
