2. YOU- THE CITY
This play was constructed to be seen by one person at
a time. The person would make an appointment and
they would show up at this specific place and would tell
the doorman of the building "I'm looking for you". The
performance would last two hours, a journey through
Manhattan where they would meet 15 actors. The
performance would make the spectator feel as though
the actors already knew them, they knew "you".
3. The original performance (1988) was set in New York -
Manhattan, but was later re-produced in London in
1989 by the London International Festival of Theatre
4. By the end of the performance the person watching/
experiencing the performance becomes part of the
performance as the next spectator begins the two hour
journey.
