• Ford India reports 237 pc sales jump in H1
Total sales of 47,902 vehicles, against 14,209
units sold in the corresponding period last year
are recorded in the first half of fiscal.
The surge was driven by sustained demand for
the record- selling Figo since its launch in March.
Ford is expected to cross the 50,000 production
milestone coinciding with the start of the festive
season.

• Bugatti Veyron to hit Indian roads at Rs 12 crore
• It is named after French racing driver Pierre
Veyron, had debuted China and Russia in 2007.
The Bugatti Veyron 16.4, has crossed the 430
km/hr mark to become the world’s fastest
production car.
It uses special Michelin PAX run flat tyres, which
can only be removed from the rims at the factory
in France, to accommodate its top speed.

• Carnation to set up Web marketplace for used cars
Jagdish Khattar-promoted multibrand automobile
services company, is planning to launch a virtual
marketplace for used cars.
Business model “clicks and mortar”model will be
designed by TCS.
Maruti’s True Value , M&M’s First Choice and others
contribute only 11% of the total sales in this segmen
6. 15th October
Jaguar Land Rover won’t close UK plant, reaches deal
with union
It will now retain all the three plants in the UK after it
reached a deal with unions.
Its plans are located in Castle Bromwich, Solihull and
Halewood.
The company plans to launch new products such as
station wagon, a new roadster and an entry-level
model to lure customers in developing markets such as
India and China.

• Toyota ropes in Rahman to endorse Etios in India
Toyota has appointed music maestro AR Rahman
as its brand ambassador for its India specific car
Etios .
To establish an instant connect between Etios’
values and the Indian masses.
Aiming to sell 70,000 units of Etios in the first
year and is eyeing about 10% market share of the
Indian car segment by 2015.
8. 17th October
M&M's Ssangyong buyout enters final lap, may
sign deal by mid-Nov
M&M is in the last leg to complete its acquisition
of South Korean SUV maker, Ssangyong Motors
M&M and Ssangyong officials are meeting in
Seoul next to discuss the “bid adjustment price”,
expected to be in the price band of $500-550
million.
