  8. 8. Technical characteristics Pre-converted content simply refers to any pre-existing source file which does not frequently change. It can be transcoded before it is published on a website or on the very moment when a user requests the download. This content class is most suitable for transcoding content that does not frequently change on a website. Real Time refers to content that is an already existing file but which is part of a CMS (Content Management System) or similar system. It is always transcoded in real time at the moment a user requests a download to the mobile phone. This content class is most suitable for transcoding bulk content. Real Time Dynamic refers to content that is generated on-demand (ex. route planner map). It is always transcoded in real time at the moment a user requests a download to the mobile phone. The website needs to provide the parameters with which this specific content was generated. For every website
  9. 9. How to- CMS integration 1. Create the Wimob content in the Wimob Suite Enter the Wimob Suite with your account name (email) and Password. Select the Web Site where you want to add your Real Time Wimob. Go through the Real Time wizard to personalize the properties of your Wimob. Select the color, the size, and the associated skin, if any. Select also the content specific features, like the Video Rate Quality, or the duration in case it is a Video Content. 2. Publish the RealTime Wimob Once you are comfortable with the selected settings, “Publish” the Real-Time Wimob. This action will give you in result a JavaScript peace of code that will be used to embed into your web page in a later stage. 3. Create an Index Web Page with links to your content web pages Use your favorite Web authoring application to create a web page containing the index to all the different content that you want to show with a single real time Wimob. Note that for the example we will be addressing only a few amount of content, but in a real life environment thousands of contents could enter into the very same category. 4. Create a Dynamic web page that dynamically selects the content Create a second web page: this one is the one containing a single piece of content, with all the attributes and other information about this content. Embed the Wimob Code into the Dynamic web Copy to your Clipboard the content JavaScript source generated in step 2 and Paste it into the selected place of your web site. This JavaScript MUST be personalized with the source of your content: • The URL of the content • A short Title describing the content • An optional Description of the content Note that this must be done for every single web page that you want to add RealTime content to it. In order to do so, you can alternatively: a. Use the web programming language of your choice to dynamically change the behavior of the Wimob content and the rest of the web page. b. Create as many static pages as you need only changing the reference to the content. 6. Publish the Site Use your tools (FTP for example) to publish the pages of the web site to the Internet. Make sure they are fully functional. 7. Check the correct link between Wimob and the Content If you have followed all the steps, all the Real Time Wimobs that you have created should be appearing in the correct web pages, then the next step is to click on these icons and check that the content is correctly downloaded to your mobile phone. 8. See your statistics Last step is to check the statistics in the Wimob Suite and see that the different titles that the user has selected are the ones appearing in your website!
