3. Solution: ExcuseMe
What it is:
ExcuseMe is a multifaceted restaurant
management system allowing customers to
specialize their order, which, ultimately, would
satisfy the goal for these customers of getting
their food to the table quickly, solve any
language barrier with a waiter, notify customers
of specials, allow for customers to request water
and even pay the bill at the end of their meal
leaving a comment and rating.
We say
ExcuseMe so
you don’t
have to
4. Customer Segment
Rather than reaching out to all types of restaurants, we will begin by targeting
customers that attend modern and casual restaurants (like Moreton Fig on USC
campus) rather than those that go to traditional restaurants (like Italian
restaurant il Pastio) where service is based off of customer/server relationship.
Our age demographic includes young adults (ages 18-32) and tech-savvy
individuals who are tired of slow service and who go to restaurants often.
5. Customer Validation
From our customer discovery we
learned that in the restaurant industry,
there are two main pain goals for
success:
(1) customer satisfaction
(2) minimizing labor, food and beverage
costs
Statistics from over 30
individuals we interviewed:
60% of our interviewees would prefer to
use a system on their smartphones rather than
going through a server to order
75% of interviewees wished there was an
easy system to order whenever and whatever
99% of customers wish there was an easy
system that would allow them to split the check
more easily
