Paper Submission Information
The call for papers is for the Inaugural United Nations Association in Canada – Calgary Branch
Academic Journal. The Journal, International Blue will feature the most comprehensive, well-
written, content based selected papers from the best and brightest in Western Canada. Selected
papers will be featured in the journal and have the chance to be published and featured at a UN
Calgary event. Selected contestants at the event will also get the oppourtunity to meet with
former UN staff. Topics in the journal should be related to:
1) Human Security;
2) Human Rights;
3) International Relations;
4) International Law and/or Crime;
5) Sociology;
6) Mathematics and Politics;
7) Political Science;
8) Energy and Environment;
9) War & Conflict;
10) Gender Studies;
11) Politics & Health.
Papers must make a convincing argument for the relevance of topics and its connection to an
international context. All papers will be reviewed by an expert panel comprising of academics,
subject matter experts, and former UN staff.
Paper Submission Process
Submissions must be made by November 30, 2016 23:59 Mountain Standard time.
Applicants must submit their article along with their most up-to-date CV that contains an email
and phone number.
Submitted papers must not substantially overlap papers and/or have distinct similarities that
have been published or are being and/or have been submitted to another journal, conference or
workshop. Any submissions of the aforementioned or plagiarized work that is not your own will
be disqualified. Disqualified papers will be put on a list that will disqualify the participant from
all future United Nations events, workshops, and so forth in Canada indefinitely. As well,

disqualified applicants will permanently be prevented from applying for any United Nations
programs or affiliate ones in Canada.
Submitted papers cannot be withdrawn from the process after submission.
Paper Format
Submissions must be at most 12 pages double-spaced Chicago style with Endnotes reference
page. Submissions must not exceed 2500 words.
