attended test and worked on alignment of
inspection procedures
Leg-support CRS so fabric top-tether anchorage
strength not assessed

Latin NCAP frontal offset of Hilux conducted at
ADAC in September - ANCAP observed and
checked top tether strength
ANCAP Toyota Hilux pole & pedestrian tests
conducted in Japan in August/September -
JNCAP observed
ASEAN crash test of Ford Ranger conducted in
Sydney in October - ANCAP observed (incl COP
assessment)

7. CRASH TEST ISSUES:
HYUNDAI TUCSON
Hyundai decided to sponsor ANCAP tests
rather than use Euro NCAP pathway
(lower Safety Assist score meant
possible 3-stars)
ANCAP crash tests in September resulted
in a 4 star rating (published last week)
Footwell deformation (high tibia injury
value) and pedal displacement were main
reasons for loss of points
December retest agreed to after several
production changes are implemented
This Korean-built RHD model was
noticeably worse than the Czech LHD
model tested by Euro NCAP
