Session 8: Equity Fundamentals
& Financial Markets
Students will understand the capital markets, money markets, and stock market mechanisms.
Session 7: Bond Valuation
Inverse relationship between bond prices and yields. Numerical examples of bonds selling at par,
discount, and premium.
Session 6: Fixed Income
Fundamentals
Overview of types of bonds. Types of risks that affect bond yields. Bond spreads. Yield Curve.
Session 5: Loans
Students will be able to understand the difference between simple and compound interest rates. Given
any nominal interest rate and various compounding periods, students will be able to determine the
effective rate.

Time Value of Money
Fundamentals
Session 3: Discounting and compounding principles
Session 4: Ordinary Annuities, Annuities Due, and Perpetuities. Complex Time Value of Money
problems.
Sessions 1 & 2:
Financial Statements
Define the components of financial statements and visualize how the balance sheet, income statement,
and cash flow statements are interconnected.
