8. Hand Drafting
I took a course in wood frame construction and hand drafting
during my first year at Vermont Technical College.
In this section I have included some of the images I drew for a
residential project for this class.
8
13. AutoCAD
I have taken multiple courses in AutoCAD starting in high school
and throughout college. Most of my experience is in a classroom
environment, however I used AutoCAD to do some preliminary
design work for a multi-use building at my job with American
Indoor Air.
This section includes elevations and two floor plans of a
residential school project. With this project we had the freedom
to design whatever type of house we wanted.
Next I included two elevations and one floor plan for the real life
preliminary design plans for a multi-use building in Boston.
Lastly I included two simple mechanical drawings that include a
3D view.

22. Revit
I took a class in Revit during my second year at Vermont
Technical College. I learned the basics of drawing and editing
floor plans, sections, elevations, and modifying walls.
In this section I have included a floor plan, elevation, 3D view,
and renderings from a residential school project. I have also in-
cluded a couple images from a preliminary design project for a
multi-use building that I worked on with American Indoor Air as
well as one personal project. In all projects drawings shown are
completed completely by myself with the exception of some fur-
niture and kitchen blocks imported from revitcity.com.

my Revit class. On the left I
have shown the first floor
plan, and below I have shown
an elevation. The next page
includes some interior
renderings.

26. Multi-Use Building
This is a project I worked on at American Indoor Air. I was the sole drafter
doing preliminary design plans for a multi-use building. The first floor was
designed for commercial use and the top three floors were designed as
apartments.

32. Community
Projects
In this section I have included some photos and a poster
showing a sketch-up model of a parklet designed and built by
my class. This was a real life project that we followed through
from design to installation.
I also included some photos of a boardwalk project I was a part
of during my employment with the Vermont Youth
Conservation Corps.

public parklet for downtown Montpelier. It will be built on the VTC campus and
then installed in Montpelier this summer.

34. Parklet
During my time in Design Class
two I played a major role in a
design-build project of a
parklet. The parklet was
designed and built by my class.
A group of volunteers,
including myself, installed the
parklet in downtown
Montpelier Vermont.
The class was split into groups
of four people. Via a class vote,
my group’s parklet design was
chosen to be built.

35. VYCC
I spent the summer of 2010
working for the Vermont
Youth Conservation Corps. I
was a member of a small
roving team. During my time
there our crew built 500 FT of
boardwalk for a wildlife
refuge.
