Jeremy Casson - An Architectural and Historical Journey Around Europe
Evaluation Question 2)
1. How effective is the combination of
your main product and ancillary
texts?
2. • I feel that the combination of my main
product and ancillary texts is effective. Firstly
all three products compliment each other.
• Both ancillary texts I created are effective in
promoting the documentary to
readers, increasing the potential audience.

reader, being

documentary.
4. TV Listings double page spread
In the review I mentioned
volunteering and this links well
with the content I filmed and
used for my excerpt of my
documentary furthermore these
texts compliment each other
and combine well.
From my audience feedback I discovered
that a lot of people were attracted to the
critics review of my documentary on my TV
Listings. This is an effective way to
compliment and advertise my documentary
as many people trust critics’ opinions and
will go on to watch the programmes they
rate.
5. The image I used also
advertises my documentary
and is effective in
complimenting it. For
instance, it shows a group
people dressed similarly and
moving in unison; denoting
community to the reader
which link to my
documentary ‘The Not So Big
Society’
The must watch ‘sticker’ I
created using Photoshop also
draws attention to the ‘Pick of
The Day’ section and stands
out; therefore it is effective in
promoting the product.
6. Audience Feedback
• My Audience Feedback showed me that 80%
of people who took part in the questionnaire
would go on to watch my documentary after
seeing either one of my ancillary texts, this
tells me that the combination of all three texts
is effective in promoting the documentary and
that they attract the readers/viewers.
