2. You must have heard many people talk about the
beautiful places such as the Maldives, Mauritius,
Seychelles and Sri Lanka.
And these destinations are everything people say about
them, absolutely beautiful. Just to give you an overview
of each of these destinations here is some useful
information before you book this amazing holiday
3. Maldives
A picture-perfect archipelago, where each island is
home to a single resort, fringed with white sands that
give away to vivid turquoise waters and coral reefs
teeming with life
• Flying time to Male 12.5 hours
• Time difference +5 hours
• Currency Officially the Maldivian rufiyaa but USS are
more widely used in resorts
• Language Dhivehi, but English is widely spoken
4. Climate
The peak season for the Maldives is between
December and April when the climate is drier. It is less
windy and the weather is hotter.
May to July and September to November tend to have
higher rainfall and some cloud, however they still enjoy
a wonderfully warm average temperature of 30c year
round and plenty of sunshine, and this is the time to
benefit from the greatest value offers
5. Mauritius
A mountain interior draped in lush foliage, a melting
pot of enticing cultures, a sacred lake in the crater of an
extinct volcano and pristine white sands adorned with
palm trees
• Flying time Port Louis 12 hours
• Time difference +4 hours
• Language Mauritian Creole, English and French
6. Climate
As Mauritius is located in the Southern
hemisphere, seasons are the opposite to those in
the UK.
Temperatures peak in their summer months,
averaging between high 20’s and low 30’s, whilst
the winter season is slightly cooler.
7. Between July and August the evenings can be cool, so a light sweater
may be required when sitting outdoors. There’s no real rainy season in
Mauritius, however there can be short downpours throughout the year,
though never tend to last long.
The main difference between the east and west coast of Mauritius is
the winds. The east coast experiences trade winds in the winter which
can actually be a welcome relief from the balmy temperatures.
You’ll find that the hotels on the east coast are designed with this in
mind, with public areas protected from coastal winds.
8. Seychelles
Powdery white sands, spectacular coral reefs and
verdant hillsides festooned with coconut, cinnamon
and banana plantations give way to misty forests,
where exquisite wild orchids epitomise the islands
fragile beauty.
• Flying time 11.75 hours
• Time difference +4 hours
• Language Seychellois Creole, English and French
9. Climate
The Seychelles enjoys gloriously sunny days throughout
the year. Peak season here correlates with our summer
months, where days are longer and the sun is cooler
with only a little rain.
April and November are hot, humid and wet, yet the
temperature remains a balmy average of 30c.
The wettest periods in January and the driest is July.
Temperatures reach up to 22c in winter and up to 34c
in summer.
10. Sri Lanka
Warm, tropical Sri Lanka lies just south of India and has
stunning beaches, an impressive collection of colourful
temples, ancient cities, national parks and striking
landscapes
• Flying time 10.75 hours
• Time difference +5.5 hours
• Language Sinhala and Tamil
11. Climate
If you’re looking to travel during the driest season, then
the best time to visit the west and south coasts and the
hill country is from December to March.
For the ancient cities of the north central Sri Lanka and
the east coast, April to December is best
