Amsterdam/ Coolness overload
Invoking the electrifying energy of the Big Apple where its brand
was founded, W Amsterdam did a complete face-lift to the two
historical buildings housing it with futuristic features including a
rooftop lobby and a SPG Keyless entry system attached to guests’
smartphones. Designed by Office WINHOV and Baranowitz
Kronenberg Architects, W Amsterdam also boasts the XBANK,
a 700sqm exhibition gallery and immersive incubator concept
space that connects local design, fashion and music talents.
Dhaka/ Emporium of traditions
For the culture seekers and creative minds, opt for the Le
Méridien Dhaka, whose designs by award-winning FBEYE
International marry its brand heritage with Bangladesh culture.
Dhaka-inspired art installations – from indigenous terracotta
contour tiles to lamps resembling the water pumps of rural
Bangladesh – dot every corner of the property, whether in public
areas or guest rooms: making sightseeing possible even as you
dream!

Seoul/ Soul Searching
Passing on Four Seasons’s renowned sensual style is its newly
opened Seoul chapter. As with the brand, the hotel is a
reincarnation of elegance with an art collection expertly curated
by LTW Designwork alongside floral displays by the Tokyo-
based Nicolai Bergmann. Selected suites overlook the landmark
Gyeongbok Palace and N Seoul Tower – a view encapsulating the
symbiotic harmony between the city’s history and modernity.
Athens/ Back to the Future
Inspired by classic modernism, AthensWas impeccably melds
mid-century style with ancient Greek forms and architecture.
With Stage Design Office founder Stavros Papayiannis helming
its interior design, the boutique hotel is meticulously furnished
with the works of modern masters that pair the old with the new;
as well, its 21 guestrooms are adorned by prints of Greek artistic
pieces while featuring custom lighting by industrial designer
Konstantin Grcic.
New York / Curating the Streets
Just a stone’s throw away from New York’s fanciest bars and
restaurants, Dream Downtown embodies the vibrant spirit of
the metropolis’s street scene. Interestingly, elements of New
York City street art permeates the entire property: think graffiti
by Harif Guzman plastered on the walls of its underground club
and mixed-media pieces by the city’s budding artists exclusively
exhibited in its upstairs lounge. Keeping form with the industrial-
chic style, guest rooms feature Ardex cement floors and an
oxblood safari chair.
