Transmission Selector And Pressure Control Valve

Transmission Neutralizer Valve Group
Remove Transmission Hydraulic Controls (Earlier)

NOTE: The transmission hydraulic control valve can be removed when the transmission is in the
machine.
1. Remove cover assembly (1) and gasket from the transmission case.
2. Remove bolt and washer (2). Remove sleeves (3) from the case and hydraulic control valve.
Remove the O-ring seals from the sleeves.
3. Remove adapter (4) and the spring from the case.
4. Install a 3/8"-16 NC forged eyebolt (5) in the sleeve as shown. Remove the sleeve. Remove the O-
ring seals from the sleeve.

5. Remove the four 3/8" bolts that hold the hydraulic control valve to the planetary.
6. Install tool (A) as shown. Fasten a hoist to the hydraulic control valve. Remove transmission
hydraulic control valve (6). The weight of the hydraulic control valve is 42 kg (93 lb.).
Install Transmission Hydraulic Control (Earlier)
1. Install tool (A) on the hydraulic control valve as shown. Fasten a hoist to the hydraulic control
valve. Put transmission hydraulic control valve (1) in position on the planetary. Install the bolts that
hold it. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 48 ± 4 N·m (35 ± 3 lb.ft.).
2. Install O-ring seals (2) on the sleeve.
3. Install sleeve (3) in the case and hydraulic control valve.

4. Install spring (4) and adapter (5) in the case.
5. Install O-ring seals (6) on the sleeves.
6. Install sleeves (7) in the case and hydraulic control valve. Install the washer and bolt that hold the
sleeves to the hydraulic control valve.
7. Install gasket (9) and cover assembly (8) on the case.
Disassemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve (Earlier)
START BY:
a. remove transmission hydraulic control valve

1. Remove 26 bolts (1) and washers.
2. Remove manifold (2) from the valve group.
3. Remove valve group (3) from the plate.
4. Remove two detent assemblies (4) from each side of the valve group.
5. Remove two pins (5) and stops (6) from the valve body.

6. Remove direction control valve spool (7) from the valve body.
7. Remove speed control valve spool (8).
8. Remove cover (9) from the valve body.
9. Remove spring (10) and the valve spool.

Retainer ring is under spring pressure.
10. Remove the spring from the retainer. Remove the retainer ring from valve spool (11). Remove
retainer (12) and two springs from the valve spool.
11. Remove piston (13) and two springs from the valve body.
12. Remove springs (14) and the shims from the piston.
13. Remove valve spool assembly (15) from the valve body. If necessary, remove the dowel and stop
from the valve body.

Retainer ring is under spring pressure.
14. Remove slug (16), the retainer ring, the retainer, the spring and ball from the valve spool.
15. Remove dowel (17), and remove the stop from the valve body.
16. Remove valve spool (21), slug (20) and spring (19). If necessary, remove dowel (18) and the stop
from behind the spool.

17. Remove plate (22) from the valve group.
18. Remove bolt (23). Remove neutralizer valve spool (25) and spring (24) from the valve body.
Assemble Transmission Hydraulic Control Valve
1. Install spring (2) and valve spool (3) in neutralizer valve body (1). Install the bolt that holds the
spool in position.
2. Put plate (4) in position on the valve group.

3. Install slug (6) and spring (5) on valve spool (7).
4. If stop (8) was removed, put stop in position in the valve body, and install dowel (10) that holds it.
5. Install the spring, slug and valve spool in the valve body. Install the stop and dowel (9) that hold
them in position.
6. If stop (11) was removed, put stop (11) in position, and install dowel (12).
7. Install ball (14), spring (15), retainer (16) and retainer ring (17) in valve spool (13). Install slug (18)
in the spool.

8. Install valve spool assembly (19) in the valve body.
9. Install shims (20), springs (21) and (22) in the piston.
10. Install piston (23), the shims and springs in the valve body.
11. Install springs (25) and (26), retainer (27) and retainer ring (28) in valve spool (24).

12. Install valve spool assembly (29) and spring (30) in the valve body.
13. Check the O-ring seals on the cover for wear or damage. If necessary, make a replacement.
14. Install cover (31) on the valve body. Install the bolts in the cover. Tighten the bolts to a torque of
30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb.ft.).
15. Install direction control valve spool (32) and speed control valve spool (33) in the valve body.
16. Put stops (35) in position on each side of the valve body. Install pins (34) that hold them.

17. Check the O-ring seals on the detent assemblies for wear or damage. If necessary, make
replacements.
18. Install two detent assemblies (36) in each side of the valve body.
19. Put valve group (37) in position on the plate.
20. Put manifold (38) in position on the valve group. Install the bolts in the hydraulic control valve.
Tighten the bolts to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb.ft.).
