2. Forrester Construction is well known
throughout the Washington metropolitan
region for its work in the areas of general
contracting, preconstruction, construction and
design-build projects. Targeting excellence in
design and safety during all phases of its
projects, the company accumulated 20 awards
in 2012 alone and continues to raise the bar
for construction work. Recently, Forrester
Construction initiated construction on the
Morrison-Clark Inn expansion in downtown
Washington, D.C.
3. Considered a historic site, the Morrison-Clark Inn
was built in 1864. In February 2013, Forrester
Construction began work that will double the hotel's
capacity and expand the parking garage.
Seeking to preserve the Morrison-Clark Inn's historic
roots, the crew plans to renovate and incorporate
nearby historic buildings in the expansion project.
Nearby buildings include a townhouse built during
the 1800s and carriage house erected during the
1700s. The construction team will keep the exterior
of the carriage home intact while renovating the
interior. Both the townhouse and the carriage house
will be connected to the Morrison-Clark Inn via a
courtyard.
4. Forrester has begun construction and
plans to finish the expansion in early
2014. Guests can continue to enjoy the
amenities at Morrison-Clark Inn, as
construction will not interfere with the
hotel's regular business.
