2.  Florian “Flo” Leibert is a San Francisco-based software engineer and
entrepreneur with over 15 years of information technology experience. In
addition to his current experience as the CEO and founder of Mesosphere,
Florian Leibert has previous experience as a software engineer at Airbnb,
where he created a program using the Apache Mesos framework known as
Chronos.
Chronos is a distributed and fault-tolerant ETL batch job scheduler that
supports the default command executor and Mesos executors. ETL refers to
the three database functions of extract, transform, and load. The extract
function refers to the initial step of reading the existing data, which is
followed by the transform step. During the transform stage, data is converted
into a new form so that it can be moved. Finally, the load stage occurs when
the data is written into the new database in its new form.
These functions are combined to provide an efficient way to transfer
information from one database to another. Common uses of ETL processes
include data migrations, the creation of data warehouses, and data
conversion among others.
