See through the noise
An introduction to CRFS and RFeye®
Seethroughthenoise
CRFS provides sophisticated spectrum
monitoring solutions to help civilian
and non-civilian spectrum stakeholders,
including planners and regulators,
spectrum operations and enforcement
teams, police and security forces, military
test, training and in-theater operations.
We develop and manufacture high
performance cost-effective systems
for collecting, analyzing and managing
massive spectrum data sets, enabling
users to ‘see through the noise’, make
sense of their spectral environment
and make better decisions. Applications
include regulatory monitoring and
management, direction finding and
geolocation of emitters, remote site,
perimeter and border monitoring, real-
time situational awareness, threat
detection and signals intelligence. We
also supply best-in-class COTS boards
and modules to OEM and integrator
partners for size, weight and power (SWaP)
constrained, mission critical, deployed
defense and aerospace platforms.
The RF spectrum is an increasingly
valuable and crowded resource
that requires rigorous planning,
management and policing. Assured
access and awareness are critical for
a wide range of commercial, military
and security applications.
Next generation
spectrum monitoring
4 5
CRFS is the world leader in systems for
remote distributed spectrum monitoring.
We developed the RFeye® Node as the
first cost effective, robust, networkable,
low SWaP spectrum monitoring system
designed for rugged field deployment.
Today CRFS offers a comprehensive
range of systems and solutions for
ITU-R compliant monitoring and
management, combining established
SM recommendations with innovative
approaches for handling emerging
spectrum technologies. We work with
a number of industry partners to
provide full turnkey spectrum
monitoring and management
solutions and in-country support.
Cost-effective wide area spectrum
monitoring and real-time interference
geolocation are the keys to next
generation spectrum management.

RFeye Array 500
All our RFeye products are COTS
and designed to be SWaP optimized,
ruggedized and easy to deploy in the field.
They include fixed, man portable and
vehicle based monitoring and DF systems
for use on test ranges, training scenarios
and in-theater operations.
All systems can be networked providing
local or remote connectivity anywhere
in the world. Planning, enforcement,
interference management, training
simulations and Real Time Spectrum
Operations are just some of the
application areas we serve. A powerful
API enables our customers to integrate
with our systems.
Militaries around the world must exploit
and control available spectrum ever
more efficiently and confront increasing
operational threats posed by both
commercial and military interference.

CRFS provides a range of solutions for
outdoors and indoors, including wide area
site and perimeter monitoring, unmanned
border surveillance, in-building monitoring
for SCIFs, SWAs and prisons, as well as
TSCM systems.
Continuous 24/7 monitoring with signal
detection, analysis, classification, alarming
and emitter geolocation enables rapid
response to potential threats and security
breaches. Systems are modular and
networkable and can be deployed cost-
effectively in a single boardroom, a multi-
story building or multi-building facility, as
well as on outdoor compounds and over
very wide areas.
CRFS’s latest COTS receiver boards
represent the current state of the art
for Real Time Spectrum Operations and
Electronic Warfare.
These rugged, extended temperature
boards are designed for integration with
a wide range of ground, airborne and
naval platforms. Distributed receiver end-
points can be networked over fiber using
PCIe or 10/40 Gigabit Ethernet to provide
heightened RF situational awareness
and enable assured operational access
for C4ISR. In addition, CRFS provides
wideband detector boards, as well as high
performance Digital RF Memory (DRFM)
receiver and recording systems for
this market.
RF spectrum situational awareness
is an essential element of operational
readiness for defense and aerospace
across all areas of test, training
and deployment.
