to me
Ma'am,
This is Hiranmayee. S, your student. I hope you are fine. I came to know through my mother that
you wanted a review aboutyourself fromme. Please excuse any formof grammatical errors in the
following:
Late in the summer of my fifteenth year, after my tenth grade vacation, several of my friends and I
came to know that there was going to be a new Principal in our school. This didn'tcome as a shock to any
one since an event like this had already happened the previous year. But, the truth was that we weren't
expecting someone who could disciplineus to such great an extent. I have to admit, I wasn'tvery
comfortable at the beginning. I was entering high school and much to my disappointment, I wasn't
allowed to enjoy the simple pleasures such as painting my nails in brightand funky patterns, w earing
simple jewellery etc. Being quite the rebel and also quite popular in my class for my sense of art and
style, I must say, I didn'tlike the factthat these old rules that weren'tso strictly followed before
were now being implemented with a new fire. ButI later understood the reasons- I was still in school, not
walking the ramp. Thinking like this, gave me a new sense of maturity. So, I thank you for that.
Next comes my love for English. The first lesson in my English class of my twelfth grade was Julius
Caesar. The way that it was narrated was really impressive! I must say, I didn'texpectto be witnessing
the whole drama in frontof my eyes. It was an incredible experience! Thus, my love for English increased
even more...
I thank you for all the motivation and encouragementyou have given me. It helped get through the
stress and pressure throughout the board exams.
I hope this review helps. I tried my best to make it as formal as possible. Once again, Please excuse any
errors considering the factthat my skills need a lotmore refining and fine- tuning. I would love to hear
your opinion on the way I've written and how I can improve my language skills.
All the very best, Ma'am, for your future. I hope all goes well.
Yours sincerely,
Hiranmayee. S
