The FBM KLCI index gained 14.69 points or 0.86% on Monday. The Finance Index in-
creased 1.16% to 14853.02 points, the Properties Index up 0.28% to 1185.81 points
and the Plantation Index rose 0.37% to 7875.03 points. The market traded within a
range of 16.24 points between an intra-day high of 1725.24 and a low of 1709.00
during the session.
Actively traded stocks include VIVOCOM, AIRASIA, BORNOIL-WC, KANGER-WA, VIVO-
COM-WB, BORNOIL, SONA-WA, AIRASIAC31, EKA and APFT. Trading volume in-
creased to 1496.02 mil shares worth RM1728.40 mil as compared to Friday’s 1486.90
mil shares worth RM1725.11 mil.
Leading Movers were GENM (+16 sen to RM4.63), YTL (+4 sen to RM1.64), MAXIS
(+15 sen to RM6.42), RHBCAP (+11 sen to RM6.04) and WPRTS (+7 sen to RM4.24).
Lagging Movers were PETDAG (-16 sen to RM23.94), KLCC (+1 sen to RM7.16),
PETCHEM (+1 sen to RM6.73) and TM (+1 sen to RM6.61). Market breadth was posi-
tive with 460 gainers as compared to 335 losers.
The KLCI extended its mid-day gains by ending higher at 1725.54 points. The per-
formance of our benchmark index was in line with gains in Wall Street on last Friday
following positive data on domestic employment and manufacturing.
