G.L.A.R.P. Manual
1. Story: Youfind yourself lost in the darkforest with no suppliesin the dark
woodsof Fogartia, here rumorstell of anevil warlockby the name of
Kramgrond, who hasfigured out how to turnpeople into zombie minions.
You find that your previous abilitiesand powersdo not workin these
forsakenlands; youwill come acrossmany different travellersinthese
trails, including a travelling salesman. Inthese woods, youmust rely on
survival, diplomacy, and combat skills to survive.
How it goes:
Entry fee is $3. The last person/team standingwill be paid with a prize
of all of the money (based on how much is collected)
In short: You mustcollect gold coins, form teams, and buy equipmentto
slay Kramgrond.
In long:
Wewill be sendingpeopleinto the woodswith nothing but a
lantern, one at a time, once a minute. Duringthis time, Kramgrond and
the salesman will be in the woods, preparingfor the newestbatch of
victims (you). For the first 15 minutes, Kramgrond willnotbe killing
anyone - but he may be usingscare tactics. You may vouchto enter the
woodsfirst, meaningyou’llbe alone in the evilforest - but that also
meansyou’llbe able to pick up the gold pouches before anyoneelse
(which will be lying around thetrail in random spots).
You cannot turn your lantern off at any point. This meansyou will be
able to identify all other players, butso will Kramgrond (who will not
have a lantern on).
At variouspointsthrough out the night, you will encounter a traveling
salesman. He will be a neutralforce, and will notattack and cannot be
attacked. He will be selling items for gold - items which are crucial to
surviving. Themerchant may be bribed, and may also send messages
back and forth between Kramgrond.
When Kramgrond convertsa new zombieonto his team, he emits a
bloodcurdlingscream which echoes through the woods.
2. Combat:
Fighting other playersfollows typical larp rules. A hit in the arm = losing
an arm. A hit in the leg = losing a leg. A hit in the chest or head = death.
If Kramgrond should find you and hityou on any partof your body,
you’llbe turned into a zombie, and you will have to lay down for one
minutebefore rising as a zombie.
Zombies can use their hands as weapons, or a blade (they’ll need to get
one from Kramgrond’sbase). Zombies can be killed like normalplayers
- but if they die, they do not go to respawn, and instead lay down for one
minutebefore rising back up. (They do not lose swordson death). You
are now under command of Kramgrond.
Kramgrond can be killed, but it is very challenging. He will have three
pieces of orangetape on each arm, leg, and chest. If you strike him on
this tape, that will reducehis armor by
one.
Kramgrond willnot alwaysbe attempting to kill people. He can come
out to ask for sacrifices in return for peace time, attempt to convince
playersto join his team as mercenaries, and manipulatingthe teams.
To win, either Kramgrond mustbe killed, or Kramgrond turnseveryone
into zombies.
PvP
If you kill another player, you collect all of their items and all of their
gold. The player may not be turned into a zombie on their walk back to
respawn.
If you kill a player and do not wish to take his item, leave it on the trail,
and the merchant will come and pick it back up.
*When you go back to respawn, you mustwaituntil the merchant
returnsto the spawn pointto redistribute your lantern to you before
entering the battle field.
Weencourage playingdirty and gang activity. Setting up trapsand tolls
is great. Say you see a horde of zombies coming. Slicing off your friend’s
3. legs to let the zombies feast on him while you get away is not against the
rules.
If you are with another player, and it’s only you two left. You could kill
him. Should you then kill Kramgrond, you’d getall of the money, instead
of dividingit by two. Keep in mind that the moresurvivorsthat are left
when Kramgrond dies, the less money each person willreceive.
Item list:
Armor (piece of tape) - One piece of armor to equip to any part of your
body.
Health Kit - Restoresa damaged limb.
Weapons - Swords, bow/arrow, and spear
Flashlight - Replaces lantern. Can be turned off and on for stealth
purposes.
Holy Bible - A bluelantern which spreadsa protective barrier of light -
keepingzombies out.
Scout - A remote control helicopter with a flashlight attached to it.
Antidote(squirt gun with 1 squirt) - Turnsa zombieback into a player.
The Holy Grenade – water balloon (will cost a TON of coins, almost
impossible to afford) - Can be thrown at Kramgrond to instantly kill
him.
*When you buy items from the merchant, he will take your gold and
redistribute it somewhere on the trail to be refound.
You may sell items back to the Merchant. The defaultis 50% priceback,
but this can be negotiated.
