EcoLogic Systems has created a wide- variety of software applications that are designed for use by Human Resources Managers, Environmental Health and Safety Managers, Asbestos Program Managers, Environmental Consultants.
1. ADAM Asbestos Manager
Today’s Challenge
Managing asbestos survey data and tracking remaining asbestos material
locations following abatement activities is a difficult task and Building
owners and managers have numerous notification requirements associated
with asbestos . All building tenants, construction contractors and building
maintenance personnel are required by OSHA regulations to be provided
with proper notification regarding the location of asbestos containing
materials in their work area.
If asbestos materials are inadvertently disturbed and inadequate
notifications were not provided, the building owner or manager can be faced
with a contaminated building, an expensive cleanup operation, a citation and
fine by OSHA and the EPA, and potential lawsuits from people who claim to
have been exposed to asbestos.
The Solution
The ADAM Asbestos Management System is an affordable, easy to use
system for managing information regarding the locations of asbestos in a
specific building or group of buildings. It enables building owners and
managers to store and access asbestos survey and sampling data, update
remaining locations of asbestos following abatement activities, store and
catalogue electronic documents pertaining to asbestos related activities in
the facility and prepare building specific OSHA compliant notifications.
The system operates in single user mode or can be configured for multi-user
client-server operation. ADAM is available for both PC and MAC operating
systems.
Key Capabilities:
• Provides easy access to the location, quantity and asbestos content of
tested suspect materials
• Stores records of abatement activities, including materials removed,
contractor information, air sample results and waste disposal records
• Enables users to enter or import a list of contractors, tenants, and
employees and generate building specific notifications to meet OSHA and
California Health and Safety Code requirements
• Prepares OSHA compliant asbestos warning signs for posting in routine
maintenance areas
2. Benefits:
• Saves time and reduces risk by providing easy access to asbestos records
and information
• Reduces the risk of litigation and citations by helping to ensure that
asbestos is not inadvertently disturbed
• Saves time by producing OSHA compliant reports and notifications
• Eliminates the need for periodic re-surveys by tracking the remaining
locations of asbestos following abatement activities.
HOW IT WORKS
Getting Started
The system starts with the Main Menu. Navigating the system is quick and
easy with ADAM’s point-and-click system. Simply click on the records or
information you wish to view or update.
Building Menu
Once you have selected a building, the Building Menu provides easy access
to data stored in the system for each specific building. There are four
columns of grouped activities: Building Information, Asbestos Information,
Lead Information and Indoor Environmental Quality Information. Simply
click on the appropriate button and ADAM will display the desired data.
3. Easy Suspect Asbestos Inventory Look Up
If you click on the List of Materials you are presented with an inventory of all
the suspect asbestos-containing materials in the building. The list includes
material description, location, quantities, whether asbestos is present and
what has been abated.
4. Click on the magnify glass for any material to view more details such as
material assessment, recommended response, sample results, and
assessments.
Abatement Project Recordkeeping
For abatement projects, ADAM stores all records and information including:
materials removed, project costs, waste manifest records and sample
results. When the project is completed, the system automatically updates
the remaining material locations – ensuring users have the most accurate
information available at all times.
5. Provides OSHA Notification
ADAM can create building specific asbestos and lead notifications and maintain
a database of tenants, contractors, employees and vendors who are required
by OSHA, AHERA or State laws to receive notifications. The system maintains
the recipient’s name, company, address and building they work in.
Notifications are automatically addressed and mailing labels printed for easy
distribution.
ADAM allows users to electronically transfer information from an existing
employee or vendor database into the system.
