*Halter Mares
When mares are trained in Halter I automatically assume that you want your mare to be a broodmare producing
Dressage foals. The purpose in this is halter horses are bred for conformation, presence, and strength and
dressage horses are bred for intelligence, conformation, presence, agility, strength, and stamina. When crossing
such horses you improve the halter mare and breed for more presence, strength, and conformation. That is why
we allow Halter horses into the ADHS.
Halter mares are required to have higher basic stats than the normal dressage horse. Halter mares are entered in
this club to improve on things that are key to dressage horses. Halter mares have an extra $1,250 to enter in the
studbook. This fee is waved if the mare is registered before she turns 2 and is out of at least one dressage parent.
