PROFILE OF PROF. (Dr.) VEER SINGH
Prof. VEER SINGH, borne on 24th Sept. 1960 in Antrolly Kallan, Tehsil Degana, Nagour district of
Rajasthan and did early education at Bikaner, Masters (1985) from M L Sukhadia University, Udaipur
and Doctorate (1992) with honors from CCS Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar, Haryana.
Experience : Total 32 years including Professor & Head (12 yrs.) Director of Students' Welfare
(DSW) ( 6 yrs additional charge) and NSS - Programme Co-ordinator (6yrs additional charge)
carried out teaching, research, extension, administration and students’ co-curricular activities.
Awards : Jawaharlal Nehru Award for Outstanding Post-graduate Research (ICAR)-1992, Bharat
Ratna Dr. C. Subramaniam Outstanding Teacher Award (ICAR) for year 2006-07, University
Best Teacher Award (SDAU) -2004-05, CSIR–SRF Award-1989, National Fellow for the Indian
Association for the Advancement of Veterinary Parasitology (IAAVP)-2010, Fellow of National
Academy of Veterinary Sciences (NAVS) – 2012, Fellow of National Academy of Biological Sciences
(NABS) -2014 and Maharaja Hanwant Singhji Marwar Ratna National Award for Meritorious
Services and Outstanding Contribution in the Field of Sciences and Technology -- 2014 from Jodhpur
state.

2. Foreign Visit : 14th WAAVP International Conferences attended at Cambridge, U.K. (1993), 16th
WAAVP , Sun City, South Africa (1997) and 1st RCPMI-Obihiro/-OIE Paris International
Symposium on Strategies for Research and Control of SURRA : Trypanosoma evansi Infection held at
Obihiro, Japan (1998). Participated and presented of research work and also Chaired as a
Chairperson in one session in Obihiro Symposium, Japan.
Publications : Two books authored, entitled as ‘Parasitic Zoonoses’ and ‘Diagnostic Parasitology’, and
about 75 papers published in National and International journals. Presented / participated papers 50 in
number of national and international conferences / workshops / symposiums etc.
Membership: Life Member of more than dozen Scientific bodies / Associations and Chaired sessions
in various national and international conferences in India and abroad. Referee and Member of the
Editorial Board of various scientific journals .
Academic Achievements: Member of Board of Management, ICAR- NDRI (Govt. of India),
Karnal as an Eminent Scientist for year (2015-17). Ex. Vice-president of IAAVP (three tenures),
Ex. Member of Academic Council, Post-graduate Studies, Study Boards of Agriculture, Veterinary
and Home Science of SDAU. Ex. Co-ordinator, Kisan Call Center for Gujarat state for Animal
Science.
Acted as an Expert / Examiner / Adviser for various Examinations / Interviews / Selection of SAU’s,
RPSC, IVRI, DBT , and ASRB etc.; Inspector, Veterinary Council of India and Convener of
Animal Health, AGRESCO, SDAU and Nodal Officer of SDAU for IAUA and ICAR News Reporter.
