On Theoretical Principles About Physical Body And Its
Functioning.
It Focuses More On Healthy Living Than Treatment Of
Diseases.
Mool Siddhant (Basic Fundamentals) Of Ayurvedic
Treatment Classifies Human Body To Be Composed Of
Four Basics (Dosha, Dhatu, Mala And Agni).

The Unani System Of Medicine Was Introduced In India By Arabs And Persians .
The Theory Of Unani System Is Based Upon The Well- Known Four - Humour Theory Of Hippocrates.
Four Humours - Blood, Phlegm, Yellow Bile And Black Bile .
The Unani System, The Temperament Of The Individual Is Especially Important As It Is Considered
Unique.
An Individual’s Temperament Is Believed To Be The Result Of The Interaction Of The Elements .

Siddha system is one of the oldest systems of medicine in
India and is largely therapeutic in nature .
Like Ayurveda, it believes that all objects in the universe
including human body, the food it takes and drugs it uses
are composed of five basic elements viz. earth, water, fire,
air, and sky .

Based on natural law of healing , Similia Similibus
Curantur(Likes are cured by likes) , homeopathy
involves treating disease with remedies , prescribed in
minute dose , which can produce symptoms similar to
the disease when taken by healthy person.
17. 17
Commonly known as Amchi system of
medicine, Sowa Rigpa is one of the oldest and
well documented medical tradition , which is
popularly practiced in Tibet, Magnolia, Bhutan,
some parts of China, Nepal and Himalayan
regions of India.
19. 19
A German physician Samuel Hahnemann derived
the word allopathy from two Greek terms, allos
which represents other or opposite, and pathos
which depicts suffering.
Allopathic treatment depends upon administering
the medicinal agent which generates opposite
effect as that of produced by the disease.
20. 20XX 20
Human beings have been using the herbal and allopathic systems of medicine since over a long time to cure,
treat, diagnose and prevent diseases and ailments.
herbal treatment is the oldest, traditional and cheapest medicine system that is more accessible to low
income and local people.
Unlike, the ayurvedic medicinal system, allopathic method is more scientifically proven and developed, and
more regulated.
Each of the two systems has its own strengths and weaknesses.
They are used to treat different ailments and at different levels and rates. Depending upon which people
prefer and use one either one of the methods or combination both of the methods more than the other

ALLOPATHY IN RELATION WITH NATUROPATHY
NATUROPATHY ALLOPATHY
Naturopathic medicine is commonly used alongside
allopathic medicine to treat many types of illness
and disease.
, naturopathic medicine treats the cause of the
problem or prevents the problem to begin with!
where allopathic medicine only treats the symptoms
of a problem
22. 22
Naturopathy Allopathy
Naturopathy believes in going holistic in treating an
ailment and takes into consideration the spiritual,
emotional and physical well-being.
this does tackle the deep rooted disease tendency and
hence may cure completely
whereas Naturopathy may take time but will try to
eliminate the disease casing tendency from within you.
While Allopathy selectively targets the symptoms of a
disease
this does not tackle the deep rooted disease tendency
and hence may not cure completely
Allopathy offers faster relief but may not completely
eradicate the disease
23. 23
NATUROPATHY ALLOPATHY
Naturopathy works by identifying the various aspects
of a patient and accordingly employing natural
therapies to correct the structural, physiological, and
psychological balance
the body and mind in whole is treated as inter-related
organs with their co-dependent functions.
Naturopaths believe that the body is a perfect
combination of all the organs which work in
coordination with each other to provide a stable and
valuable function
it relies solely on clinical examination and
investigations to confirm a diagnosis
Allopathy lays emphasis on chemical drugs,
anatomical parts, and disease names
The allopathy works by dividing anatomy into various
categories that have their respective specialists who
treat a disease by focusing on their part only

DIAGNOSTIC METHODS OF NATUROPATHY SYSTEM OF MEDICINE:
Naturopathy adopts the following diagnostic methods Full life case history- covering all the
facts of life since birth.
Facial Diagnosis-the science of facial expressions by studying the various characteristic features
in the body.
Iris Diagnosis- study of Iris indicating the condition of various visceral organs.
Modern clinical diagnosis to some extent.

Iris diagnosis (iridology, iridodiagnosis) is a technique which is used in –
an attempt to diagnose systemic disease through observation of benign melanomatairis clefts, the
pigmentation, texture and topography of the iris.
each organ was represented in a specific sector of the iris, and elaborate charts have been devised to
illustrate the location of these sites
IRIS DIAGNOSIS
29. TONGUE DIAGNOSIS
: Tongue Diagnosis is a non-invasive diagnostic procedure of different traditional medical systems like
Acupuncture, Ayurveda etc. In modern medicine tongue gets importance but no qualitative evaluation
has been performed. In Traditional Medicine, along with other traditional diagnostic criteria, TONGUE
DIAGNOSIS contributes enormous importance in identification & evaluation of pathological conditions
as a whole, also very useful in assessing the structural (Yin) and functional (Yang) status of organ systems

31. FACIAL DIAGNOSIS
Facial Diagnosis is the ability to determine the physical status of a person from external appearances. By
its use, it is possible to discover accurately the amount and location of matter in the body, foreign to its
normal condition; and, by recognizing incipient tendencies to special phases of disorder, not only to
warn the patient of the danger impending, but to summarily counteract the same by natural and
unfailing means.
32. DIAGNOSTIC METHODS OF AYURVEDA SYSTEM OF MEDICINE:
Naturopathy adopts the following diagnostic methods Full life case history- covering all the facts of life

34. DIAGNOSTIC METHODS OF UNANI SYSTEM OF MEDICINE:
The diagnosis of an illness in the unani system is dependent on the observation & physical examination.
it believes that any illness is a product of the following factors:
The materials the person is made of
The temperament of the person
The structure and strength of his faculties
