The Act Provides -
1. Licenses and Permits
2. Standards for motor vehicles
3. Penalties for violation

4. RECALL OF MOTOR VEHICLES :
“110A.
Damage to the environment or the driver or other road users.
The manufacturer :
1. Reimbursement- full cost of the vehicle
2. Replace - similar or better specifications.

5. TAXI AGGREGATORS:
AMENDMENT OF SECTION-193.AMENDMENT
 Digital intermediaries (OLA CAB) :
 Passengers to connect with a driver for transportation purposes
(taxi services)
 Licenses issued by state

9. DOCUMENTS :
 Section - 158.
 A police officer in uniform is authorized on this behalf by the State
Government, produce certificate of -
(a) Insurance
(b) Registration
(c) Pollution under control certificate
(d) Driving license
(e) Transport vehicle - certificate of fitness

10. Section 129, Principal Act :
 Four years of age - Child – Restrain System
 Headgear – Helmet :

11. Carriage of Excess Passengers :
 "194A.
Transport vehicle - Carrying more passengers than authorized in the
registration certificate / In the permit.
Punishable with fine of two hundred rupees per excess passenger.

12. Safety belts -
Seating of children
 194B.
 Age of 14 yrs - Safety belt
 Upto 4yrs – A child restrain system
 Punishable with a fine of one thousand rupees.

13. Penalty for no headgear :
 194D.
- punishable with a fine
- Rs. 1000
- Cancellation of license for three months.

14. Failure to allow free passage to Emergency vehicles:
 194E.
 A fire service vehicle
 An ambulance
 punishable with imprisonment of 6 months, or with a fine
of Rs. 10,000/- or with both.

15. Use of horns and silence zones
 194F.
(a) HORN-
(i) sounds the horn needlessly or continuously or more than necessary to ensure
safety
(ii) an area with a traffic sign prohibiting the use of a horn
(b) Cut-out by which exhaust gases released not through the silencer
 Punishable - fine of Rs. 1000/-
 A second or subsequent offence with a fine of Rs. 2000/-.

16. Insertion of new sections 199A and 199B.
Offences by juveniles
 “199A. (1) the guardian of such juvenile or the owner of the motor
vehicle shall be deemed to be guilty
- FINE OF Rs. 25,000/-

17. POLLUTION UNDER
CONTROL CERTIFICATE
- Mandatory document
requirement for a vehicle
Validity of PUC for new car is 1
year from registration
Renewal – every 06 months
(b) 194 B cut-out by which

2000/- .
